Wingspan Asia
Wingspan Asia – out now

Get ready to spread your wings and explore a new continent!

The critically acclaimed digital board game, Wingspan, has launched its much-anticipated Asia Expansion.

This latest addition from developer Monster Couch brings a vibrant collection of new birds from the East, stunning new visuals, and most excitingly, an entirely new way to play with the head-to-head Duet Mode.

The Wingspan: Asia Expansion is available now on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile platforms.

A Journey for Two: Introducing Duet Mode

The headline feature of the Asia Expansion is the brand-new Duet Mode, a gameplay variant designed specifically for two players that adds a fresh layer of strategic depth. This exciting head-to-head mode includes:

  • A Special Duet Map: Compete with one other player on a shared map, adding a new layer of area control to the classic Wingspan formula.
  • Duet Tokens: Carefully place your Duet Tokens to claim different habitat spaces on the map, unlocking bonuses and creating tactical opportunities.
  • New End-of-Round Goals: Adapt your strategy to new goals specific to this competitive 1v1 mode, keeping every game dynamic and engaging.

New Birds, Cards, and Atmosphere

As with previous expansions, Wingspan: Asia significantly enriches the core experience with a wealth of new content inspired by the continent.

  • Expand your nature preserve with 90 new and fascinating bird cards, all native to Asia. As always, each card is beautifully illustrated and includes fun facts and their real-life bird calls.
  • Diversify your strategies with 13 new bonus cards, including two designed specifically for challenging the Automa (solo mode).
  • Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of the East with 4 new digitally painted backgrounds inspired by breathtaking Asian landscapes.
  • Customise your profile with 8 new player portraits associated with local cultures.
  • Relax to a new, soothing soundscape created by PaweĹ‚ GĂłrniak, the original composer for Wingspan, who has crafted 4 new musical tracks for this expansion.

How to Start Your Asian Adventure

There are several ways to get your hands on the Wingspan: Asia Expansion and its accompanying content. You’ve got the standalone DLC pack, or bundles for both new and existing players:

The Superior Way to Play, Expanded

The digital adaptation of Wingspan has been lauded for its elegance and accessibility.

In our 4.5/5 review of the base game, we stated: “Wingspan is an elegant, exceptional board game and it’s been delivered with real care to the Xbox. Console is a good look for it, as it automates things that are more unwieldy on a table-top, making it – dare we say it – the superior way to play. When Wingspan was so rewarding to play in the first place, that’s an extraordinary achievement.

The Asia Expansion, with its addition of a brand-new competitive mode and a wealth of beautiful new content, further solidifies the digital version as an essential experience for both board game aficionados and newcomers alike.

Discover the extraordinary avifauna of the East and challenge a friend in the new Duet Mode. The Wingspan: Asia Expansion is available now!
