One of gaming’s most beloved co-op series is making its return next month with the launch of Trine 4: The Nightmare Price. Today however, publisher Modus Games have shared a new behind-the-scenes look, as part of their Indie Access series, at the game’s frightful enemies and the rather tricky puzzles it’ll challenge you with.

The latest video provides an overview from Trine creators, Frozenbyte, on what ensures Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is going to be such a special experience, including a series first – the debut of four-player co-op. With fully reworked combat present, dynamic puzzles that change depending on if you’re playing single-player or multiplayer, and a wealth of foes fuelled by the deepest fears of our heroes, Trine 4 has plenty to boast about in what should be an unforgettable adventure.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince also marks a return to the series’ 2.5D origins and is set to deliver the most expansive Trine quest to date. Adventurers can enjoy Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince separately or, if they wish to, revisit the entire series by checking out the Trine: Ultimate Collection. This includes Trine Enchanted Edition, Trine 2: Complete Story, Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, and Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince. The retail edition of Trine: Ultimate Collection will come with a world map, digital Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince art book, and the full soundtrack of the series too. It’s worth noting that all digital pre-orders will also include launch day access to the bonus DLC level Toby’s Dream.

For now, sit back, relax and give this new video a watch. That will hopefully tide you over until the release date of Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, which is scheduled for October 8th, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
