From the depths of darkness, a dragon will soar and come March 2023, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will release to the world. The best thing? It’s not only already hugely anticipated, but it’s going to be dropping onto Game Pass on Day One.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from KOEI TECMO and Team NINJA is an action-packed dark fantasy, one in which takes us off to a world plagued by demons. It’s the Three Kingdoms which plays host to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and from there on out a whole ton of the finest sword-play awaits, building on the Chinese martial arts as players get the chance to feel the flow between offense and defense.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty promises much and we were already hyped after the original announcment and Tokyo Game Show demo. Mostly that’s due to the following key features…

  • 1. Demons in the Kingdom – A dark fantasy set during the chaotic Three Kingdoms period, the narrative vividly tells the tale of a militia soldier’s strenuous fight for survival during a Later Han Dynasty infested with demons. It’s madness in the Three Kingdoms like never before!
  • 2. Awaken the Power Within – Defeat deadly enemies to boost morale and awaken the power from within! Overcome adversity through unique new strategies, including battle styles based on the “Five Phases”.
  • 3. Live by the Sword – Renowned for ruthless strikes that can change the tide of battle in an instant, sword practitioners of the Chinese martial arts gracefully change pace as they shift between offensive and defensive maneuvers. Overwhelm opponents with a flurry of force in a series of intense and bloody battles while learning the precision and skill necessary to become a true master of the sword.

But now we know more and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has gone and got itself a fully confirmed release date – March 3rd 2023. It’s then when the game will launch worldwide, playing out on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC through Windows and Steam. Even more excitedly is the fact that this will be hitting Xbox Game Pass on console and PC on Day One.

Further to that, the KOEI TECMO team have confirmed that alongside a standard edition of the game will be a Digital Deluxe Edition, including a Season Pass which will push forward with three DLC packs. These packs are highlighted by new generals, new demons, new scenarios, new stages, new weapon types, and more. The Digital Deluxe Edition also includes a digital artbook and a digital mini soundtrack, whilst those grabbing it will also find the Season Pass/DDX bonus: “Qinglong Armor” to be theirs.

Want more? Well, pre-order and you’ll get the special “Baihu Armor” with physical and digital editions, whilst digital folk will also get the “Zhuque Armor”.

A limited-edition SteelBook version of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will also be available at launch too. The SteelBook Launch Edition includes an exclusive collectible case along with bonus DLC items “Crown of Zhurong” and “Crown of Gonggong”.

March 3rd 2023 promises to be a good day. Let us know if you’ll be grabbing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty on Xbox, PlayStation or PC. Is it the Game Pass hit that tempts you even more?

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
