In a mashup you never saw coming, the teams at Wargaming and WWE are joining forces to deliver some utter madness, pushing out Update 5.0 for World of Tanks and signalling the start of Season 1 – Summerslam!
Yep that’s right, the new season is here in World of Tanks and running between now and September 21st 2020 will be Summerslam. This brings together the worlds of tanks and wrestling as one, delivering a new exclusive season pass that features WWE inspired tanks, legendary Superstar collectible crews, new garages and much, much, more.
Available to World of Tanks players on Xbox and PlayStation, as part of the new season, players will have the chance to command five legendary Superstar Collector Tanks inspired by WWE Superstars The Undertaker and Becky Lynch, as well as WWE Hall of Famers Andre the Giant, Sgt. Slaughter plus “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who will be free for all players.
Further to that, those dropping in on World of Tanks Console right now will be given the ability to experience their own redesigned WWE Garage. This will include epic Superstar introductions for your vehicles, unique visuals for each Premium Collector Tank, and two sets of crew chests that will include the aforementioned five Superstars and Legends to start in addition to Roman Reigns, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels in August.
And if you thought that was good, Update 5.0 also introduces cross-play between Xbox One and PlayStation 4, giving players the opportunity to pit their skills against one another in an expanded player base with quicker matchmaking speeds across all tiers. Should you be a real-time-strategy fan, the popular Commander mode also returns, letting you get a different angle on the intense tank fighting and tactics.
