At A Glance
- Game: World of Tanks: HEAT
- Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
- Season: Season 1 – Lost Eden
- Available: Now (July 1st)
- Headline Additions: New Agent, two tanks, new map and Battle Pass
Lost Eden Introduces A Master Of Deception
The headline addition is Flair, a new Marksman-class Agent built around stealth, trickery and battlefield manipulation.
Her passive ability, Signature Masking, helps keep her hidden from enemy targeting systems, making her difficult to lock onto. Meanwhile, her Ultimate ability, Echo Proxy, creates a controllable duplicate vehicle capable of confusing opponents, baiting attacks and opening up new tactical opportunities.
Rather than relying on brute force, Flair rewards careful positioning and clever decision-making.
Two New Tanks And A Vast New Battlefield
Flair arrives alongside two new Leopard variants, both available through the Season 1 Battle Pass.
The Leopard 2FK is equipped with an anti-tank guided missile launcher and abilities including Feign Death, allowing it to disguise itself as battlefield wreckage while remaining mobile, alongside Electro-Optical Jammers, which reduce enemy targeting accuracy.
The Leopard 2KST, meanwhile, favours mobility and ambush tactics. Active Camo makes the vehicle extremely difficult to detect, while EMP Trap deploys an area-denial device that damages and slows enemy tanks caught within its radius.
Players can also head into New Eden, a sprawling desert map built around the ruins of an abandoned agricultural megaproject. Towering biodomes, research facilities and wide open spaces create opportunities for everything from long-range sniper duels to close-quarters armoured skirmishes.
Battle Pass Rewards And More Updates Incoming
Season 1’s Battle Pass runs until September 2nd, with every gameplay reward available through normal play.
Players looking for greater flexibility can also purchase the Premium Battle Pass for 1000 HEAT-Coins, allowing rewards to be unlocked in any order rather than progressing through a fixed track.
Wargaming has also confirmed a mid-July quality-of-life update, introducing several community-requested features including:
- The ability to test drive any vehicle before purchasing.
- A Credits boost for all players.
- An option to disable Ultimate ability cinematics.
Building Momentum After Launch
World of Tanks: HEAT offers a different spin on the hero shooter formula, combining specialised Agents with modern armoured warfare in fast-paced multiplayer battles.
When we reviewed the game, we awarded it 3/5, noting that “World of Tanks: HEAT isn’t the worst addition to the hero shooter genre. It does fill a niche in the tank battle hero genre; a genre that doesn’t have a ton of competition.” We also highlighted its progression grind as an area for improvement, making these latest quality-of-life additions particularly welcome.
Season 1: Lost Eden is available now as a free update on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, giving commanders plenty of reasons to roll back onto the battlefield. Download the base game for free from the usual stores, like that of the Xbox Store.
