How many weapons can a Worm hold? Well, in the case of Worms W.M.D. you’ll find that there are more than 80 for your wriggly friends to get acquainted with!
Team17 have today announced the full armoury of weapons which will be available in the upcoming Worms W.M.D.. Due for release later this year on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, it’ll come with an extensive single player campaign and both local and online multiplayer support for up to six players.
As well as the 35 standard weapons and utilities which are now synonymous with the Worms brand, it’ll also come complete with the following awesome weapons…
- Launch the Dodgy Phone Battery on to the landscape and watch as it delivers a short sharp shock between any Worms it hits, using any nearby vehicles and objects as a conductor!
- With the Unwanted Present, you decide the amount of turns it will take to explode from 1-5, stay clear if you see any on the landscape this is definitely more trick than treat.
- Finally, the OMG Strike will call in a satellite to fire down a laser capable of causing huge destruction, a new rare weapon on par with the Concrete Donkey and Armageddon.
On top of those, the recently announced crafting feature will add in the ability to craft many more new weapons such as the Bazooka Pie, Alloy Baseball Bat, Electric Sheep and Stinking Carpet Bomb. The new crafting addition expands the weapon and utility count to over 80 in total, which will guarantee the most personalised approach to any battle yet…and brings in even more tactical elements to the usual turn-based strategy.
In our eyes, the more weapons the better and Worms W.M.D. certainly looks to be delivering on the ‘awesome’ front. We will of course bring you more news as and when we have it. For now though, the latest trailer will have to suffice.
