Should you be at one with the dark fantasy worlds then the upcoming WRATH: Aeon of Ruin is looking likely to be of interest. Currently sitting in Early Access on Steam, today we see the teams at 3D Realms, 1C Entertainment and KillPixel Games confirm the full release date of the game on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. And alongside that preorders for the awesome looking Founder’s Edition Big Box go live.

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC on February 25th 2021 and whilst that may seem some way off, the way 2020 has been going, it can’t get here soon enough.

Marketed as a dark fantasy-horror FPS that is being powered by the original Quake engine, WRATH will work as a shooter that revels in the wonderful history of the genre, while managing to adapt to modern expectations. Currently running the Steam Early Access route, today we find a second major update hitting home introducing a new level, weapon, and enemy. Explore the former home of an extinct religious sect and the underground network hidden underneath. Lava-filled chasms, stone chambers, and profane altars hint at the horrors of a forgotten world. Sear mottled flesh with molten metal with the Slag Cannon. Learn to fear the Oppressor, a walking furnace capable of firing relentless volleys of molten rock.

Steam Early Access players now also have access to a detailed roadmap and can look forward to at least two more substantial updates before WRATH: Aeon of Ruin launches. New devastating weapons, vicious enemies, secret-filled levels and more await. With new content promised all year long, players will have a stream of new toys to experiment with ahead of launch.

But that’s still not the most exciting thing and in celebration of the release date and second update for Early Access come the preorders for the WRATH: Aeon of Ruin Founder’s Edition Big Box. With only 500 copies in production, these will not remain available for long and you’ll notice the pre-order page includes a real-time counter denoting how many copies remain.

Each box will cost $99.99 and includes:

  • Limited Founders Edition Big Box
  • Wrath: Aeon of Ruin on CD-ROM
  • “The Art of Wrath” Art Book
  • Original Soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult
  • USB drive loaded with exclusive digital content
  • 5 Metal Enemy Figurines
  • Reversible Poster
  • Exclusive Stickers

“We’ve fallen in love with WRATH throughout development and we want it to be the best game possible,” said Frederik Schreiber, Vice President of 3D Realms and Producer on WRATH. “So while we’re coming out later than we wished, we’re creating the Founder’s Edition Big Box since our fans love them, as well as making sure our roadmap is detailed and transparent.”

If you wish to check out WRATH right now then head on over to the Steam page. If you do jump in, be aware that those who own the brilliant Ion Fury will see a discount dropped into place.

Let us know if you’ll be checking it out.
