Over the years the WRC series of video games has slowly grown – in both quality and quantity. This year’s upcoming edition will be no different as the teams at NACON and KT Racing unveil WRC 10 – a game that will allow players the chance to celebrate the history of the FIA World Rally Championship.
Taking what we found in WRC 9 (our reviews of the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One editions are right here), WRC 10 will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC come September 2nd 2021, with a drop on Nintendo Switch at a later date. It will allow NACON and KT Racing to build in gameplay improvements and features with the anniversary edition of the game which is set to focus fully on what has made the FIA World Rally Championship what it is today. Just as it prepares to take in a 50th season in 2022, with WRC 10 you will relive the most intense moments of the Championship, from 1973 to the present day. And if you thought the unveiling of the game was good, NACON have got further surprises up their sleeve – stand by for announcements real soon.
It’s the 50 years of rallying that will come to the fore here as WRC 10 offers a unique anniversary edition, bursting with new features and driving thrills. A retrospective mode will offer players the chance to relive 19 events that have shaped the history of the Championship, with special stages putting drivers’ skills to the test by imposing conditions specific to each era. You’ll also be able to drive six historic rallies, including the legendary Acropolis Rally (Greece) and Rallye Sanremo (Italy), with over 20 of the WRC’s most iconic cars: Alpine, Audi, Lancia, Subaru, Ford, Mitsubishi, Toyota and more.
It won’t just be about the content though and WRC 10 will be more immersive than before. The physics have been further improved to offer players an even more realistic experience; none more so than the control of aerodynamic forces, the turbo and braking which have received particular attention on all surfaces, so that WRC 10 recreates ever more accurate and intense driving sensations. Immersion has also been increased with a completely reworked audio design for this new edition. You’ll be able to experience rallying as if you are there!
Further, the hugely popular Career mode has also been improved with a new livery editor and the chance to create your own team. With WRC 10 you will be able to apply your own colours to championship cars to complement the 52 official teams of the 2021 season.
