Top War RTTS Bundle – now on Xbox

Fancy diving into some World War II strategy on your Xbox? Well, Destructive Creations have just dropped a new bundle onto Xbox, called Top War RTTs.

It packs two of their real-time tactics games together for ÂŁ35.99 over on the Xbox Store. So, the big question is: what are you actually getting, and is it a good deal?

What’s Actually In the Top War RTTs Bundle?

Right, so for your cash (ÂŁ35.99, remember), you get these two RTT games plopped into your Xbox library:

War Mongrels

First up is this trip to the brutal Eastern Front. It’s all about mixing tactics with stealth. Sounds good, right? Well, hold your horses. We reviewed this one back when it launched and, honestly, we weren’t impressed. It landed a 2/5 score from us, mostly because of ‘duff controls and absurd difficulty‘.

We reckoned there was a decent game hiding in there, but those issues really dragged it down. Keep that firmly in mind when thinking about this bundle’s value.

63 Days

This one’s the newer of the two, shifting focus to what feels like the Warsaw Uprising – a desperate scrap for independence told through the eyes of young people caught up in the chaos. It’s promising team-based tactics, stealth, and a story about brotherhood.

We covered its launch back in 2024, but haven’t given it the full review treatment yet. For many, this might be the main reason to even look at the bundle.

So, Is This ÂŁ35.99 Bundle Actually Good Value?

Destructive Creations are pushing this as a money-saver, and yeah, getting two niche WWII tactics games for under forty quid sounds decent on paper. But here’s the snag: value isn’t just about quantity. It’s about quality too. You are saving a decent wad of cash though, as purchasing the two individually would cost you ÂŁ39.23 (ÂŁ29.24 for 63 Days, ÂŁ19.99 for War Mongrels).

And let’s be blunt, War Mongrels comes with that hefty baggage from our review – the dodgy controls and brutal difficulty aren’t small problems. So, you’ve got to ask yourself: are you really getting two solid games for your ÂŁ35.99, or are you paying mostly for 63 Days and getting a potentially frustrating bonus game thrown in?

If you’re a hardcore RTT fan, maybe you’re willing to take the gamble on War Mongrels, especially if 63 Days was already on your radar. You might find a way to wrestle those controls into submission. But if you’re after two guaranteed smooth experiences, be warned – based on our time with War Mongrels, you might find half of this bundle a tough pill to swallow.

The Top War RTTs bundle on Xbox gets you two games, War Mongrels and 63 Days, for ÂŁ35.99 on the Xbox Store right now. That’s the deal. But one of those games gave us serious trouble. So, weigh it up carefully before you jump in. Know what you’re potentially getting into with War Mongrels.

What do you reckon? Does this sound like a bargain or a bit of a risk? Let us know down in the comments.
