Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Leads The Charge
There are big drops on Game Pass, and then there are statement drops. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth firmly sits in the latter category.
Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by SEGA, this latest entry in the long-running series – a series we have previously ranked – brings together Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu for a story that stretches across continents and emotions alike.
From the neon-lit streets of Japan to the sun-soaked chaos of Hawaii, it’s a journey that constantly evolves, balancing heartfelt storytelling with the series’ trademark absurdity.
We scored it a perfect 5/5, calling it a “magnum opus” – and it’s hard to argue with that. The sheer volume of content, side activities and narrative depth makes this one of the biggest and most important Game Pass additions of the year so far.
Absolum Delivers Roguelite Brawling With Bite
If Infinite Wealth is all about scale and story, Absolum swings in with a completely different energy.
Published by Dotemu (recently behind MARVEL Cosmic Invasion), Absolum blends the spirit of classic side-scrolling beat ’em ups with modern roguelite design. Set in the fractured world of Talamh, it tells the story of a rebellion rising against a tyrannical ruler, with magic and steel clashing in equal measure.
Landing on Game Pass Day One, what makes Absolum particularly compelling is how it evolves with each run. Characters come with distinct fighting styles, and as you progress, new abilities, upgrades and paths open up, ensuring no two attempts feel quite the same. Combat is fast, weighty and demands precision, whether you’re playing solo or teaming up with a friend.
It’s a game that feels both nostalgic and fresh, pulling from the past while pushing forward with modern systems.
We’ll follow with a full review.
Nova Roma Offers A Slower, Strategic Shift
Closing out the week is Nova Roma, a Game Preview title that leans fully into thoughtful, methodical gameplay.
Available on PC via Game Pass (and nope, for now, you won’t be able to play on Xbox consoles), Nova Roma places you in the role of a leader attempting to rebuild civilisation as the Roman Empire crumbles. Starting from a modest settlement, your goal is to shape a thriving city that can stand the test of time.
This isn’t just about placing buildings and watching numbers rise. The game introduces layered systems that require careful planning, from managing water flow through aqueducts and dams to balancing expansion with environmental risks. Citizens have their own needs and expectations, while the ever-present influence of the gods adds another unpredictable element to the mix.
As a Game Preview release, Nova Roma is still evolving, but even now it offers a rich foundation for players who enjoy deep, strategic experiences. Find the download you need at the Xbox Store.
A Week Of Variety For Game Pass Players
What makes this week stand out isn’t just the headline RPG, it’s the range of experiences on offer.
From the emotional highs and endless content of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, to the punchy, replayable combat of Absolum, and the slower, more deliberate planning of Nova Roma, Game Pass continues to cater to every type of player.
If you’ve somehow not played Infinite Wealth yet? Now’s your chance.
