Both titles arrive in the next couple of days, bolstering Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and beyond with two very different journeys.

Indika Brings A Bold Indie Experience To Game Pass

Arriving today (Feb 2nd), Indika is one of those rare games that feels purpose-built for Game Pass discovery.

Developed by Odd Meter and published by 11 bit studios, this third-person, story-driven adventure blends surrealism, dark humour, and philosophical questioning into a journey that refuses to play it safe.

Set within a strange, distorted world inspired by classic Russian literature, Indika follows a young nun grappling with faith, authority, and her own inner demons – quite literally. Her unlikely companion, a horn-headed devil who speaks directly to her, turns a seemingly quiet monastic existence into something far more unsettling.

What begins as a grounded story soon spirals into a mix of tragedy, absurdity, and introspection, asking players to question belief systems and moral certainty along the way.

Why Indika Is Worth Your Time

Indika earned a 4/5 review score from us, praised for its ambition, world-building, and willingness to experiment.

Indika is a game I was so looking forward to playing and much of it delivers. The world-building and experimentation in terms of story and gameplay are to be applauded… But you should still be playing Indika, mostly as there just isn’t any other game like it.

It may not be flawless, but its originality makes it one of the most distinctive additions to Game Pass this month.

Final Fantasy II Returns With A Pixel Remastered Makeover

Landing on February 3rd, Final Fantasy II joins Game Pass in its Pixel Remaster form, offering a modernised take on the 1988 classic while staying faithful to its roots.

Unlike traditional levelling systems, Final Fantasy II introduced a skill-based progression model, where characters improve based on how they fight. Use swords, and sword skills grow. Cast magic, and magical aptitude improves. It was experimental then, and it still feels refreshingly different today.

The story itself is darker and more political than the original Final Fantasy, charting the brutal conflict between the Palamecian Empire and a desperate rebel force.

What The Pixel Remaster Adds

This updated version enhances the experience without sacrificing its identity:

  • Fully refreshed 2D pixel visuals
  • Rearranged soundtrack overseen by Nobuo Uematsu
  • Modernised UI and auto-battle options
  • Adjustable encounter rates and progression boosts
  • Extras including a bestiary, illustration gallery, and music player

For long-time fans or newcomers curious about the series’ evolution, this is an ideal way to experience Final Fantasy II. Head over to the Xbox Store.

A Strong Week For Variety On Game Pass

With Indika offering a daring, narrative-led indie experience and Final Fantasy II delivering timeless JRPG heritage, this week’s Game Pass updates highlight exactly why the service continues to appeal to such a broad audience.

Whether you’re looking to try something genuinely different or revisit a foundational RPG classic, there’s a compelling reason to boot up Game Pass over the next few days.

As suspected, the Xbox gods have come good with a few more Game Pass arrivals for this coming week…

What’s Next For Game Pass?

From here, the next few weeks are looking good for Game Pass subscribers too.

Expect to be playing Relooted on Feb 10th, BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, Roadside Research and Starsand Island (Preview) on the 12th, and then both High on Life 2 and Kingdom Come Deliverance on the 13th.

After that? Avatar Frontiers of Pandora lands on the 17th Feb, with Avowed on the same day.

Of course, there will be removals and come Feb 15th we say goodbye to Madden NFL 24 (Cloud, Console, and PC).

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
