We’ve had our eyes on My Time At Portia for a little while already, but now, as the game enters Early Access on Steam, it’s great to see that Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions have been confirmed.
The sandbox simulation RPG from Team17 and Chinese indie developers Pathea Games has today launched on to Steam Early Access.
As you arrive in the enchanting town of Portia, you’ll be given the chance to set up shop in a derelict workshop left to you by your Pa. From then on out, it’s down to you to gather resources and put his trusty, old workshop handbook and workbench to good use, as your craft your home back to shape and make it your own, before converting the empty woodland around you into a quaint little farm, where you can grow your own crops using clever planter boxes and cultivation techniques!
But setting up your own workshop is just the start of matters in My Time At Portia and you’ll soon be able to take on daily commissions and villager requests which enable you to craft your way into the hearts of the local community. With the small town of Portia being filled to the brim with a vibrant cast of unforgettable faces all with exciting stories to share, energetic personalities and individual behaviours, it’ll be up to you to make sure you get to know them all.
And once you have, there will be no stopping you and your adventures because just out of town, on the outskirts of Portia, you’ll discover ancient ruins and dungeons to explore, mine for resources and go face-to-face with fearsome monsters and bosses that stand between you and the secrets of Portia.
Whilst the Xbox One version is obviously the big draw for us, it’s good to see My Time At Portia given the early access treatment from today on Steam. When a full release is confirmed for Xbox One, PS4 and Switch, we’ll be sure to let you know, but with the game already containing many key features and hours of engaging gameplay – with plenty more planned on the journey to full release – things are looking very bright indeed.
My Time at Portia will be available for PC via Steam Early Access from 4pm GMT today for £15.99/$19.99/19,99€. Make sure you take in the Early Access trailer below.
