Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, you would already know that Xbox One X is on its way. And with its arrival just a few months away, it has been confirmed that a number of Xbox One titles will be getting a ton of enhancements. Today, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have jumped on board to fully detail the new technically advanced enhancements that will be hitting Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Come November 7th 2017, Lara Croft will look better than ever before. With the power of Xbox One X behind her adventures, you can expect something pretty special to come the way of your Rise of the Tomb Raider experience.
Developed in partnership with Nixxes Software, the Xbox One X enhancements include premiere graphics and other technical enhancements that leverage the full power of Xbox One X with settings that gamers can tailor to their taste.
Xbox One X players can choose from one of three visual modes, including:
- Native 4K: (full 3840 by 2160) for highest fidelity resolution
- Enriched Visuals for stunning graphic upgrades
- High Frame Rate for the smoothest possible gameplay
New Xbox One X tech enhancements for Rise of the Tomb Raider include:
- HDR display support for more vibrant and accurate color representation technology
- Spatial audio support, including Dolby Atmos®, for true 3D audio
- Enhanced texture resolution for Lara Croft®, NPCs, and environments, leveraging additional memory offered by the Xbox One X
- Improved anti-aliasing for immersive realistic details
Additional visual enhancements include:
- Improved volumetric lights
- Improved reflections
- Enhanced foliage
- Upgraded polygonal detail
- Amplified texture filtering

Totally missed this when you first posted it but glad you did. Probably the game (after Forza 7) that I’m most hyped to play on the Scorpio. I did buy it on release but, as is often the case with me, I hardly touched it as I got other games around the same time that distracted me and I simply never went back to it. For once I’m getting rewarded for my (lack of) efforts! 🙂
