far cry 6 launch

The Far Cry franchise has come a long way since the early instalments, yet whilst the series highlights of Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 are long behind it, there’s still just something about it which means gamers will be clamouring to take a look. That’s the case with Far Cry 6 – a game which provides access to the most expansive Far Cry experience yet.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia and PC, Far Cry 6 whisks us off to Yara, a Caribbean island which has the usual Far Cry staple ruling it – a dictator.

This time around it’s Antón Castillo and his son, Diego, who are at the heart of all problems and so when we join Dani Rojas – guerilla fighter extroidinaire – you can be sure that all hell is going to break loose.

It wouldn’t be a Far Cry if the narrative behind it, the premise rolling around in the background and the opportunities that would open up wouldn’t be a bit over the top. And that’s the case for Far Cry 6 here and now. It’ll have you fighting on the beaches. It’ll having you fighting in the jungles. and it’ll have you fighting in the city. In fact, Far Cry 6 will have you fighting all over town, all as you look to get one up on Castillo and his men.

Thankfully – and yet again in standard Far Cry manner – FC6 will provide you with all the weaponry and arsenal you need. I mean, it’s something we’ve grown to know and love about the franchise as a whole and even though it’s been three years or so since Far Cry 5 was prevalent, the need that it brings never wanes.

We’re currently slapbang in the middle of our full review of Far Cry 6 on Xbox Series X|S and will be sure to drop you some thoughts as and when we can. For now though you need to consider how you’re going to get hold of a copy for yourself, with no less than three versions available. The Standard Edition will set you back £59.99, but then there’s the Gold Edition for £84.99 which throws in the Season Pass for continued action.

Top o’ the pile this time is Far Cry 6 Ultimate Edition. You’ll need to stump up a cool £99.99 for this one, but it pretty much does as the title suggests, delivering the base game and all the content you need – a Jungle Expedition Pack, a Croc-Hunter Pack, the Vice Pack and the Season Pass. Hell, should you have dropped your cash early, you’ll also get access to some tasty pre-order goodies too.

That Season Pass looks to be brilliant too, merging Far Cry 6 with the villains of the previous games for some serious content fun.

The links above will send you hurtling towards the Xbox Store for purchase. No matter which Edition you get, you’ll find Smart Deliver in the house, ensuring you are playing the best version of the game no matter your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S console of choice. You’ll also find the game on the stores of PlayStation, Stadia and PC.

As always, the comments are below and ready for your Far Cry 6 thoughts. Will this one be as good as the Vaas powers Far Cry 3 or the Pagan Min controlled Far Cry 4? Or will it be another Far Cry New Dawn? Let us know what you think.
