Yet Another Zombie Survivors – now on Xbox in Game Preview

The horde is here, the bullets are flying, and another contender for the “survivors-like” throne has officially entered the arena as Yet Another Zombie Survivors comes to Xbox.

Awesome Games Studio has today launched its addictive reverse bullet hell, Yet Another Zombie Survivors, into Xbox Game Preview. The game is available to purchase and play right now on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for £12.49. There’s a free trial if you need it too.

After carving out a huge following in Early Access on PC, this deceptively simple but deeply chaotic squad-based survival game is now ready to be unleashed on a whole new audience of console players.

A Proven Horde Slayer Arrives on Xbox

We’ve had our eye on this one for a while. When we got an early look at the PC version, our preview of Yet Another Zombie Survivors left us incredibly impressed with its addictive loop and strategic depth. Now, Xbox players can finally get their hands on this polished and celebrated experience, jumping into a game that has already proven its mettle with a dedicated and passionate community.

This is a Game Preview title, which means it’s a work in progress. However, the developers are committed to regular updates and have already confirmed that the big 0.9 update will be landing on Xbox very soon. That brings us ever so close to a V1.0…

What Makes YAZS Stand Out from the Horde?

In a genre that has exploded in popularity, Yet Another Zombie Survivors brings some unique and compelling twists to the formula.

The biggest differentiator is that you are not a lone survivor. In YAZS, you will assemble and control a 3-member squad in each run. This opens up a world of strategic possibilities as you find the most efficient synergies between your different characters to take on the thousands of undead that stand in your way.

This is the perfect couch game. The controls are incredibly simple – your characters aim and shoot on their own. Your job is to move, survive, and, most importantly, make the crucial decisions that will shape your squad’s power.

Evolve and Synergise

The progression systems are where the true depth of the game lies. As you level up, you will choose from a huge variety of perks, support skills, and nodes from nine different skill trees to match your playstyle. You can also focus on your favourite characters to alter their gear and unlock their powerful ultimate abilities.

From a lone SWAT soldier to a full team of mercenaries armed with katanas, flamethrowers, and rocket launchers, the choice is yours in every single run. You will forge your squad to your liking with a host of permanent upgrades, pursuing the specializations you enjoy the most as you watch your team become a true force of destruction.

The horde is waiting, and the ultimate test of survival is about to begin. For fans of the survivors-like genre, this is an unmissable and already proven new entry that offers a unique and strategic squad-based twist.

You can start your fight for survival right now on Xbox. Remember, it’s not a full launch, but Yet Another Zombie Survivors is on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
