We play games as the most heroic of saviours, the most daring of heroes and the most evil of bad guys. But have you ever played as I? Yes, I. The character from the alphabet? Nah, didn’t think you had.
Arriving as some weird Numberjacks alternative, Switch – Or Die Trying sees you playing as the character ‘I’. Your task is to find all of your lost friends; friends who just so happen to be the other 25 levels of the English alphabet.
With 75 levels in place, a key switching mechanic that lets you change between little ‘i’ and big ‘I’, a fully dynamic world and a 2D ambient art style, Switch – Or Die Trying most certainly looks to be something a little different from the norm.
What is normal though is that you’ll need to bring lightning fast reflexes to the table, a speedrunning mentality and a test of nerve like no other. Puzzles are all good, but when you combine puzzles with action, you’ll need to be right on point at all times.
If you fancy giving Switch – Or Die Trying a little shot, then you can find it priced up at just £5.59 from the Microsoft Store. Alternatively, hold tight for our full review. It’ll be with you in the coming days.
