Dead Reset – out now!

The masters of the modern FMV genre are back with Dead Reset, a blood-soaked, choice-driven interactive horror where every single death brings you closer to the truth.

Dead Reset, the latest from Wales Interactive and Dark Rift Horror, is a terrifying new death-loop adventure, now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android for ÂŁ12.99.

This is a game we’ve been following from its announcement to its release, and have even had the chance to review. Prepare to be trapped, forced to perform a gruesome operation, and to master a terrifying loop to uncover the path to escape.

A Blood-Soaked Interactive Nightmare

In Dead Reset, you are trapped in a terrifying death-loop. You play as surgeon Cole Mason, who is kidnapped and brought to a mysterious underwater facility. There, he is forced to operate on a patient to extract an evolving, parasitic horror.

Where Death is a Feature

The core of Dead Reset is its unique death-loop mechanic. Death is not the end, but a terrifying new perspective. Each time you fail and die, you will be brought back to the start, but with the knowledge of what went wrong, allowing you to uncover the one true path to escape.

This is a game where your morality will be tested at every turn. You must steer Cole on a path of either Redemption or Damnation, with your decisions leading to four wildly different endings. You’ll also need to build trust or fracture alliances with other characters, with each bond forged or broken influencing your road to survival.

The entire experience is a blood-soaked, interactive narrative with cinematic scares and bloody practical effects that put you at the heart of a relentless sci-fi horror movie.

A Journey from Announcement to Review

We’ve had this blood-drenched adventure on our radar for a little while now. It was a few months back that we first got wind of the unique premise when we reported that you could master a terrifying death loop in the interactive sci-fi horror Dead Reset.

Now that it’s here, we’ve been able to see if it lived up to its promise. In our full 3.5/5 review of Dead Reset, we praised its production values and excellent premise:

As an FMV game, Dead Reset comes complete with good production values, a great premise, and excellent performances… it’s great to play a game in this genre again, and it’s good to see Wales Interactive producing another banger.

Your Horror, Anywhere

Dead Reset is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This fantastic feature means your terrifying death-loop can continue, no matter which device you’re on. A single digital purchase on the Xbox Store for ÂŁ12.99 unlocks the game for you on both your Xbox console and your Windows PC. All of your choices and story progress are synced via the cloud, so you can seamlessly switch between platforms.

You can experience a gruesome death on your PC, then jump over to your Xbox to try a new path without ever losing your place in the loop.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
