Momento – out on Xbox and Play Anywhere

Momento goes for the quiet approach, inviting players to decorate a room, treasure meaningful possessions and discover how the smallest decisions can shape an entire lifetime.

Launching today on Xbox Series X|S and PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support, this thoughtful narrative experience blends cosy decorating with branching storytelling, creating an adventure where every object has the potential to become part of a much bigger picture.

  • Publisher: Silver Lining Interactive

Every Object Tells A Story

At first glance, Momento looks like a relaxing room decoration game. You can arrange furniture however you like, move treasured keepsakes into place and interact with almost everything around you, from flicking light switches to browsing bookshelves or stopping to pet the animals you encounter. But the items you choose aren’t simply cosmetic.

Each possession carries emotional weight, influencing the story as your character grows from childhood into adulthood. A favourite toy, treasured souvenir or sentimental keepsake may return years later in unexpected ways, gradually shaping relationships, opportunities and the life that unfolds around you.

The journey begins in childhood, where your earliest decisions help define future ambitions. As the years pass, new environments, themes and chapters open up, with your earlier choices quietly influencing where the narrative heads next.

Momento promises stories of friendship, heartbreak, love and self-discovery, encouraging multiple playthroughs as different decisions reveal fresh scenes, alternative endings and hidden details that may have been missed the first time around.

Relax, Explore And Create

Outside the main story, there’s plenty to enjoy at your own pace.

Items and furniture unlocked during Story Mode can be used in a dedicated Creative Mode, giving players complete freedom to design their ideal space without worrying about narrative consequences. Exploration is also rewarded, with hidden puzzles, Easter eggs and interactive objects tucked throughout each environment for curious players to discover.

Combined with its gentle soundtrack and inviting art style, Momento looks set to deliver the kind of laid-back experience that’s perfect for an evening of quiet exploration.

A Different Kind Of Cozy Adventure

Rather than focusing purely on decoration or puzzles, Momento ties its cosy gameplay into an evolving story that remembers the things you choose to keep close. It’s an intriguing premise, and one that could make every playthrough feel slightly different from the last.

Momento launches today on Xbox Series X|S and PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support. Take a trip to the Xbox Store and you’ll be able to pick it up. You’ll need to pay ÂŁ15.99 to gain access.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
