Revival Recolonization
Revival Recolonization – out now on Xbox

Whilst Sid Meier’s Civilization series is undoubtedly the top-dog in the 4X strategy genre (and the 7th entry continues this dominance), it would be naive to pass up on the many other titles all looking to captivate players with their in-depth, tactical gameplay.

Revival: Recolonization comes to us from HeroCraft, and puts an extra-terrestrial twist on things. Humankind is threatened by an otherworldly entity, and it is up to you to prepare them for war!

The Eras Tour

Now available on Xbox, Revival: Recolonization is making its console debut after being PC-exclusive for over a year now.

Starting off with you picking a clan to foster over four unique eras, from the beginnings of mankind all the way through a futuristic setting, you will have to build facilities, develop military units, and adapt to the ever-changing conditions of your match to ensure the survival of your group.

This is a harsh post-apocalyptic version of Mother Earth, and as such expect zombie invasions, sudden removal of certain weapon types from play, and much, much more as you constantly evolve through a dynamic map.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a 4X game if you couldn’t do a bit of evil yourself. Your customisable army will get bored if you just sit around, so the decision to attack neighbouring factions will always be a welcome one in Revival: Recolonization.

Oh, and you can even turn the tables and play against humanity, destroying them and re-shaping them in your perfect way.

Revival: Recolonization Key Features

  • A living, unpredictable world — Random cataclysms, dynamic weather, and shifting game rules ensure no two campaigns play alike
  • Tactical, turn-based combat — Customize your armies, exploit destructible cover, and deploy powerful units
  • Evolving civilizations — Guide your chosen clan through four distinct epochs, from primitive survival to advanced technology
  • Deep strategic systems — Influence the world with edicts, diplomacy, and region-specific laws

Play Now!

Revival: Recolonization can now be purchased on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.

We will of course have our full review of the game on Xbox ready for you soon, but for now you can check the game out for yourself via the Xbox Store, where it costs £24.99.

Revival: Recolonization Description

Set in a post-apoc version of Earth, Revival is a 4x strategy game where the world and its rules can change at key moments, creating a deep and highly replayable experience. Explore a transformed planet, negotiate or conquer new territories and bring the light of civilization to regressing human colonies in order to prepare mankind for war with a despotic entity.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
