Cookies Trails
Cookies Trails – out now

The end of the world has never been so cute… or so tactical as a sweet post-apocalyptic puzzle twist has just scurried onto Xbox, PlayStation and PC in Cookie’s Trails.

From Afil Games, it is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation, with prices starting at just £4.19.

Prepare to guide a friendly hamster survivor through zombie-filled trails, where every hexagonal tile is a step closer to safety… or disaster.

A Sweet Twist on the Apocalypse

In Cookie’s Trails, your mission is to guide a friendly hamster survivor safely to the camp at the end of each level. The world is filled with zombies, but you have the tools to fight back. You’ll need to collect baseball bats to defeat them and medical kits to heal your wounds, but they can only be used in specific positions.

The core of the gameplay is its clever path-building mechanic. You must rotate and reposition hexagonal path tiles to create a continuous and strategic route for your hamster to follow. Each of the 30 stages requires all tiles to be used, combining obstacles, enemies, and resources in creative new ways.

While completing a level ensures your progression, the true challenge is to reach the camp without taking any injuries. Doing so will grant you a special cookie-shaped star, encouraging replayability and the search for more optimized and perfect solutions.

A Trio of Puzzling Adventures

For puzzle fans looking for a great value deal, the Cookie’s Trails + Steampunch: Lost Tombs + Snack and Quack (Bundle) is also available. This combines all three versions of Cookie’s Trails with all the versions of two other Afil Games puzzlers.

We’ve previously seen them get their ducks in a row with the charming Snack and Quack, and take on some steampunk punching with the action-platformer Steampunch: Lost Tombs. This new bundle is a perfect opportunity to grab three very different, but equally clever, puzzle games at once.

Your Survival Kit

Here’s what you can expect from this new post-apocalyptic puzzler:

  • A Cozy Tactical Puzzle Game: Guide a hamster survivor through 30 zombie-filled stages.
  • Hexagonal Path-Building: Rotate and reposition all the tiles to create the perfect route.
  • Bats, Zombies, and Medkits: A simple but deep strategic layer of combat and healing.
  • Aim for the Cookie Star: Replay levels to try and complete them without taking any damage.

The camp is waiting, and the zombies are shuffling. If you’re a fan of charming and clever puzzle games with a unique post-apocalyptic twist, Cookie’s Trails is ready for you on the Xbox Store right now, fully optimised for Xbox Series X|S, playable on Xbox One, or for PC. You’ll find a PlayStation version on the PlayStation Store too.

Cookie’s Trails is a cozy tactical puzzle set in a post-apocalyptic world with a sweet twist. The player guides a friendly hamster survivor through zombie-filled trails, collecting baseball bats and medical kits to safely reach the camp.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
