When a serial killer called the Womb Ripper comes to town, you really have to question how your life choices got you here…
Bloodwash has ‘YouTube fame’ written all over it, and in fact being broadcast by some of the biggest gaming names has propelled it to ‘Very Positive’ reviews on Steam, and now onto console. Releasing today onto the Xbox marketplace, expect to be shocked and terrified in equal abundance, as you take a trip to the scariest laundromat in town.
Inspired by popular gruesome murder mystery horror films in the Giallo genre, Bloodwash sees you take control of Sara, whose life really isn’t going too well right now. Living with her alcoholic boyfriend in a dingy apartment complex, struggling with the toil of being a college student, as a pregnant woman Sara surely couldn’t have imagined things to go further downhill. Well, it just so happens that she is being stalked by the Womb Ripper – a serial killer with not only a thing for hunting down pregnant women, but also possibly the most disturbing name in serial killer history. And that’s even with the likes of the Acid Bath Murderer kocking about.
Despite the incredibly low-poly visuals and the frankly laughable textures on the faces of the NPCs you encounter, it doesn’t make this first-person survival horror any less frightening. Ever since taking the bus down to the 24-hour laundromat just outside of town, the night goes from eerie, to tense, to absolutely horrifying, especially when the Ripper comes to chase you down.
