Yep that’s right. Johnny Gat is back!
We’re not surprised. Not at all. You see, the comparisons between the awesome Saints Row, and the upcoming Agents of Mayhem have been there since day one. It’s nice to have some confirmation though and we’re always pleased to see Johnny Gat make an appearance where-ever that may be!
And today that confirmation is that Johnny Gat will be available as the 13th Agent in Agents of Mayhem.
But how will you get hold of him? That’s easy. You’ll need to pre-order the game, in retail form or on Steam. That in turn will draft Gat into your game, bringing with it an unlock mission, his own personal mission, vehicle, character and weapon skins. You’ll also get the unmistakable voice of Daniel Dae Kim thrown in for good measure.
The “Have God recreate the Earth and retcon the entire world of Saints Row” ending of Gat out of Hell means that the dead don’t stay dead. Johnny is back where he was born, Seoul and he’s a cop; the events of Devil’s Night left Johnny in a coma. On waking almost a year later Johnny discovers that all of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency have been wiped out and replaced with C.O.P robot units. Johnny hates robots but loves guns and his reputation for wanton destruction makes him the perfect fit for MAYHEM.
But that’s not all, in addition to Johnny Gat, pre-ordering Agents of Mayhem at retail will also secure the “Legal Action Pending” skin pack for Hollywood, Hardtack, Fortune, Braddock, Yeti and Daisy.
If however you prefer to pre-order digitally, the 13th Agent will be Lazarus. A brand new and exclusive character, Lazarus is a merging of woman and machine; the top rung of the evolutionary ladder. As an agent of MAYHEM, she encounters an endless stream of competitors ready to challenge her for that distinction. While she’s evolved beyond her own humanity, she still has a great love and respect for humankind as a whole. MAYHEM allows her to watch over those quirky human beings whose flaws and peculiarities continue to fascinate her to this day.
In addition to Lazarus, those that pre-order from Steam, PlayStation Store or Xbox Marketplace will receive the “Legal Action Pending” skin pack for Hollywood, Hardtack, Fortune, Braddock, Yeti, Daisy Red Card, Rama and Joule.
Agents of Mayhem will be arriving on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come August 15th in the USA, with an August 18th release elsewhere. If it lives up to the hype – and we’ve no reason to say it won’t – it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
