If you’re a fan of epic RPG adventures, then the latest announcement courtesy of Bandai Namco is one you’ll want to know about.

After arriving on PC back in September 2017, becoming the highest scoring PC game of the year on Metacritic, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is now set to arrive to players on console thanks to a partnership between developer Laraine Studios and publisher Bandai Namco.

In Divinity: Original Sin 2, players are given the freedom of a sandbox RPG experience with one of the deepest RPG worlds ever created. With the entire world of Rivellon at your fingertips, you will be able to go anywhere, talk to anyone, and fully interact with every aspect along the way.

With six unique characters to take forward into the world of Rivellon, you’ll be found creating multiple experiences, with each character bringing their own unique fully-fledged backstory, personality and quest lines to get stuck in to…

  • Red Prince – A haughty but heroic lizard noble
  • Sebille – An elven assassin
  • Lohse – An possessed musician
  • Ifan ben-Mezd – A mercenary ex-soldier
  • Beast – A rebel-turned-pirate dwarf
  • Fane – An undead member of the long-forgotten Eternal race

To keep things smooth and accessible, Original Sin 2 is set to bring a new and updated user interface to the console experience, to ensure the gameplay experience is as smooth and as fast as the PC version of the game.

“This is an incredible opportunity for us to work with Larian Studios who has already shown its talented work through the previous games” said Hervé Hoerdt, Vice President of Marketing & Digital at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe. “We are extremely pleased to bring this outstanding title to our lineup by offering new epic adventures to console gamers with the deepest RPG worlds ever created”

“It was very important to us to have DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2 distributed by a team that understands how to bring RPGs to a broad audience.” said Swen Vincke, Founder and CEO of Larian Studios. “With Dark Souls and The Witcher, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment demonstrated they know how to do exactly that and so I’m very happy we’ll have their support”
