It’s certainly been a bit of a slow burner, with a good few months passing since we last had the chance to enter the world of Sean and Daniel Diaz in Life is Strange 2, but now, finally, Episode 3 is here. Are you ready to enter the “Wastelands”?
Available to grab on Xbox One, PS4 or PC (Steam, no less), Life is Strange 2 Episode 3 thrusts us back into the lives of the Diaz brothers, as they hit the road and settle down for the long journey from Seattle to Mexico, arriving in the Redwood Forests of California, a few months after their dramatic escape from Beaver Creek.
It is here where the boys are reunited with Cassidy and Finn, and the brothers start to experience life on the fringes of society as they befriend a close-knit community of drifters and runaways; working on an illegal farm in an attempt to scrape together enough money to continue their journey.
“Wastelands” is all about new friendships, relationships, and mentors who influence how Sean and Daniel see the world, encouraging them to learn more about not just themselves, but each other. The problem is, friction fast arises between the brothers and their resolve is tested once again. As tensions rise, can their strong bond survive?
“The coming-of-age story in Life is Strange 2 hits a crucial point in “Wastelands.” The key themes in this episode are community, relationships, and finding your own identity. Sean gets to hang out with a group of friends again and be a teenager, while Daniel finds new people to look up to,” Said Michel Koch & Raoul Barbet, Co-Creative Directors of Life is Strange 2. “The brothers will spend more time apart and really learn a lot about themselves and who they are as individuals. They have been on an intense journey, and this episode represents a moment for them to experience some sense of normality and focus on themselves, although within the context of an alternative community and lifestyle.”
“Episode 3 is a climactic moment in the Life is Strange 2 season. The exciting twists and turns take the story up another notch, and Sean & Daniel will never be the same again,” said Jon Brooke, Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios. “We are proud of this episode and really excited to see the reactions of players after experiencing Episode 3!”
Well, you’ll only actually get to find that out by taking in the latest Life is Strange 2 tale yourself. You can do so right now provided you’ve previously taken in Episode 1 and Episode 2. If you haven’t, you’ll find that you are missing out on something special; something that Life is Strange fans are fast taking to their heart once more.
You’ll be able to get access to Life is Strange 2 from the usual digital stores. We reckon the Xbox Store is the best of the lot and it is there where you’ll find the Complete Season available for £32.79. An individual Episode 3 purchase will set you back the usual £6.79.
Don’t forget, if you really like what is going on in the Life is Strange universe, there is also the chance to take in a bit more narrative via the medium of comic. Titan Comics have done a great job with their series and it is well worth taking in.
