We’ve had numerous Metal Slug titles hit Xbox One over the last few months, with numbers 1 through to 4, X and XX all having previously dropped in on the library. Now though there’s another and yet again the ACA Neogeo porting system is to blame as Metal Slug 5 launches on Xbox One.
Available right now for £6.09 (a price that is seemingly the new ACA Neogeo selling point) is ACA Neogeo Metal Slug 5 on Xbox One. A game that was first released way back in 2003 by the team at SNK, this follows on from the multitude of previous Metal Slug titles to port over to Xbox One, dropping us into the action as we dip in and out of the action shooting found within.
Putting us in charge of four rather familiar faces – Marco, Eri, Fio and Tarma – it is up to us gamers to take on the Ptolemaic Army in order to recover some valuable documents.
With the usual Metal Slug gameplay on offer, and some early turn-of-the-century mechanics in place, anyone who has played and enjoyed the previous Metal Slug titles to drop on to Xbox One will no doubt be in their element here. As always, the promise of amendable difficulty settings and placement on global leaderboards should see that retro appeal grow.
