Cities: Skylines is, without doubt, one of the most in-depth city builders on the market. But it’s now time for the power of the new-gen consoles to push opportunities on like never before, with Cities: Skylines – Remastered.

Becoming available for the first time on current gen consoles – Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 – Cities: Skylines – Remastered is an upgraded version of the old classic, allowing players to build the city of their dreams, working through road networks, bus lines and parks. Whether you decide to build a residential haven, a commercial masterpiece or embark on a new industrial revolution – or combine the three – Cities: Skylines – Remastered will allow for it.

That’s always been the case, but with the Remastered edition they’ll be able to create larger cities, will be able to place structures freely and will find graphical improvements to help. Further still, Cities: Skylines – Remastered adds in some twenty-five buildable tiles and additional player tools too.

In all, the upgrades included in Cities: Skylines – Remastered sit as…

  • 25 buildable tiles – that’s 16 additional tiles from Cities: Skylines on Xbox One and PlayStation®4!
  • Quick selection tool
  • UX Improvements, such as precision placements, distance indicator and updated snapping options
  • New environmental controls panel allowing players to adjust time of day, rain, fog, and environment colouring
  • Map editor
  • An overall graphic performance increase

You’ll find Cities: Skylines – Remastered rolling out to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on February 15th 2023, running free to those who already own Cities: Skylines on Xbox One or PlayStation 4. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download of the game on Xbox – it’s included in Game Pass. The PlayStation Store will do the same.

Expect a host of additional DLC pieces coming forth in remastered form in the months ahead, but for now check out the trailer below. We’ll review Cities: Skylines – Remastered on Xbox Series X|S very shortly.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
