Our review of Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair on Xbox One may be up on the site already – with a very good score we might add – but if you are still undecided then there is good news… we have a Let’s Play live on our YouTube channel for your perusal as well.
Join our very own Richard Dobson as he delves into the Royal Stingdom to help Queen Phoebee who’s world has been overrun by Capital B. We jump in just after the training level and first run of the Impossible Lair, as he takes on the first three levels of the game: Capital Causeway, Factory Fright and Wild Web Woods.
Capital Causeway and Factory Fright are fairly easy introductory levels as you can see. Things start to get a bit more difficult as we enter Wild Web Woods however, as you will see from the number of onscreen deaths. The stream also gives a great look at the cartoony graphics but also the sounds of the game, as we hear the first few tracks of the wonderful soundtrack.
We also get a glimpse at some secret areas in the levels as Richard tries for all the T.W.I.T coins, as well as collecting a ton of quills. He then shows us the uses of these collectibles by visiting Trowzer the Snake and Vendi who gives us an explanation of the Tonics in-game.
When not in the levels, we get a good view of the first few sections of the Overworld, where again there are secrets galore to be found. Richard introduces us to a couple but leaves plenty uncovered for gamers to discover when they get their hands on the game in just a few days time. Check out the video below now for the stream!
So what do you think of not just the latest Yooka-Laylee title, but Richard’s performance in the stream? Would you like to see more? Then stick a ‘Like’ and subscribe in to our YouTube channel where we post regular Let’s Plays, and be sure to have a little listen in to the brand new TheXboxHub Podcast – we will be chatting about Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair on Xbox One in our next episode.
And as always, leave a comment below for what else you would like to see.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair releases on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC come 8th October 2019.
