NACON have gone big in the accessories market over recent months, pushing out a whole range of Designed for Xbox goodies, including the likes of the Pro Compact Controller. Very soon though you’ll be able to get your grubby mitts on a new offering – the Revolution X Pro Controller, and it’s available to pre-order today.
Due for release across the UK and Europe on October 13th 2021, the Revolution X Pro Controller for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC is available now for pre-order at nacongaming.com. Priced at a RRP of £99.99, this has been created by NACON in response to their community feedback, designing something that is fit for competitive gaming on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC. After going through extensive development processes in collaboration with Microsoft, the Revolution X will be NACON’s first eSports controller for the new-gen, with it offering new features and pushing the limits of customisation with an extensive dedicated App.
So what do we have? Well, there are fool-proof ergonomics for one, as the Revolution X Pro Controller’s design provides comfort and responsiveness to all gamers. It’s covered with a super robust structure that sports all the functionalities of an Xbox controller – Share button, haptic feedback triggers and a headphone jack – but builds on that with other ideas. For instance, both sticks of the Revolution X stand out with their ability to adjust amplitude on the fly, thanks to a range of interchangeable shafts. This means that no matter what options you are looking for, several concave and convex thumbsticks are included to fit all types of gameplays.
Round the back we find 4 shortcut buttons with optimized ergonomics, while the textured grip on the handles offers perfect stability even after long use. There are also, rather neatly, two compartments concealed in the hand grips of the controller and this allows for further tailoring thanks to the inclusion of additional removable weights. And whilst on the storage subject, the Revolution X Pro Controller, all its accessories and its 3m-long USB-C detachable cable can be easily stored and carried thanks to the included case.
Software wise, and available to grab directly from the Microsoft Store for Xbox or Windows PC, the Revolution X’s dedicated App unveils the controller’s full potential. This comes about through a comprehensive and user-friendly interface in which players can access many customisation options to create their advanced game profiles. This includes adjustment options for full button mapping, shortcut assignment, response curve and dead zone for both sticks, trigger sensitivity, inversion of the stick’s axis, 4 or 8-way D-pads, settings of the 4 vibration motors or even light effects of the right stick. You’ll be able to set each of the parameters directly, or opt for the different presets suggested by NACON themselves in order to suit your game type. Up to 4 profiles can be stored in the Revolution X Pro Controller’s internal memory so there’s no issue should you wish to switch things up every now and then.
But there’s more and also included is Dolby Atmos for Headphones, letting players experience multidimensional audio precision with ease. You see, NACON have teamed up with Dolby Atmos to allow every Revolution X user to benefit from Dolby Atmos for Headphones technology. You just need to simply plug the Revolution X to your Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One or PC to activate the power of Dolby Atmos spatial sound with any wired or wireless stereo headset, although installation of the Dolby Atmos App will obviously be required.
The Revolution X App includes complementary audio settings to adapt the equalizer to your game too, lets you set the audio gain of the microphone, as well as activate noise cancellation for chat.
