Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few months, you would have realised that numerous ACA NEOGEO titles have made their way to Xbox One. Now, there’s another – The Last Blade!

Available at the usual Neo Geo game price of £6.39, ACA NEOGEO The Last Blade is the latest game to have been faithfully reproduced for Xbox One. With the opportunity to mess around with the game settings, making things easier or more difficult should you see fit, and allowing for you to drop your best scores on to a worldwide leaderboard, The Last Blade should most definitely be one for those retro hunters out there.

First released way back in 1997, The Last Blade is set in Japan’s Edo period and lets you get acquainted with a roster of rather unique swordsmen. Power and speed are key to your fighting success whilst the super attacks and ‘Desperation’ moves mix things up a little more.

If you are interested, then you should pay the Xbox Games Store a little visit.

Game Description:

“THE LAST BLADE” is a fighting game released by SNK in 1997, set in Japan’s Edo period with a roster of unique swordsmen to choose from. Thematically the game is similar to the “SAMURAI SHODOWN” series, but also features a wealth of innovative systems to set it apart. One such system is the ability to choose between “Power” and “Speed” styles when selecting a character. The “Power” system focuses on high damage while the “Speed” system focuses more on intricate combos and speed. The game also features a unique “Hajiki” ability that allows players to deflect or repel attacks. The game also allows the player to cancel super attacks into Desperation Moves adding another strategic element to the game. Finally, the game features a wealth of flashy attacks thanks to the inclusion of Super Secret Skills and Super Desperation Moves. The “ACA NEOGEO” series has faithfully reproduced many classic NEOGEO masterpieces. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores. Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One. A massive racing fan, Forza 4 was the daddy of all Xbox titles but Forza Horizon 3 now trumps that. Online first person shooters are my hell....probably because my reactions are so poor, but give me a little Indie title and I'll be in heaven. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
