Looking for another route to traverse in the first-person rail simulator, Train Sim World? Well, the Main Spessart Bahn: Aschaffenburg – Gemünden route has arrived as DLC for Xbox One to deliver a delightful mix of steep gradients, scenic hillsides and swooping turns.
Whether you’re in the driver’s seat or simply coming along for the ride, prepare to travel along the Spessart mountain range, a scenic 52km long route filled with challenging slopes and beautiful views in equal measure. You’ll be able to carry passengers to and from work or haul tons of freight, but be wary of the steepness. For the first time ever Banking operations are a part of this route, with dedicated locomotives joining heavy trains in order to help push them up the most challenging of slopes. There are five different scenarios to take on here and a whopping 100 collectibles to find along the way.
Included in this DLC are two modern icons of German motive power, the DB BR 185.2 locomotive and the DB BR 146.2 locomotive, whilst you can also experience push-pull operation in the DoppelStockwagen control car. As always with Train Sim World, expect them to feel, sound and perform like the real trains should as they’ve been accurately reproduced using the SimuGraph vehicle dynamics engine.
The Train Sim World: Main Spessart Bahn: Aschaffenburg – Gemünden Route DLC on Xbox One can be yours for the price of £24.99 from the Xbox Store. Fortunately for non-Xbox gamers, it’s also available on the PlayStation 4 and PC digital stores, so you won’t miss out!
