The first action RPG to reside in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world, Warhammer: Chaosbane is here, as it plunges Xbox One, PS4 and PC players into the heart of the Old World – and should you be brave enough to throw your cash the way of the Magnus Edition or Digital Deluxe version, then making that move into the Old World is now possible.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, Warhammer: Chaosbane launches initially via the Magnus Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. With the Standard version of the game not due to hit home until June 4th 2019, it is these two editions which deliver 4 days of early access gameplay, and a smattering of other goodies, to gamers across the globe.

On a continent marked by the Great War against Chaos, a bloody conflict which ravaged the Empire of men, Warhammer: Chaosbane will see you embody a human, a high elf, a wood elf, or a dwarf, and discover the iconic locations of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles universe that’s captured the imaginations of millions of fans across the world.

It is you who are the last hope for the Empire of Man against the Chaos hordes, and no matter whether you decide to play solo, or with up to four players in local or online co-op, Warhammer: Chaosbane on Xbox One, PS4 and PC will have you choosing a hero from four character classes – each with unique and complementary skills. The question is, are you prepared for the epic battles that lie ahead, as you go wielding some of the most powerful artefacts of the Old World?

Features include:

  • THE FIRST HACK AND SLASH set in the Warhammer Fantasy world
  • 4 CHARACTER CLASSES, each with unique gameplay, skills and equipment
  • AN XXL BESTIARY with over 70 monsters aligned with the Chaos Gods and epic boss battles
  • OPTIMIZED FOR CO-OP: solo or with up to 4 players, local or online, the class synergy and interface have been designed for co-op

If you are down with the Warhammer world, or just fancy dropping a bit of a hack and slasher into your gaming sessions, then Warhammer: Chaosbane is certainly going to be the game for you. Clearly inspired by the likes of Diablo and other dungeon crawlers, fans of the genre now have access via the two bigger packages that sit alongside the Standard Edition of the game, with the £52.99 Deluxe Edition containing the base game, the Deluxe Pack (a gold boost, 4 character emotes, 4 pets) and early access to the game from right now.

Those who wish to go really deep though will probably find the Magnus Edition the better bet as for £64.99 it includes everything found in the Deluxe Edition but also drops the Season Pass into play too, with that throwing us an additional chapter for the campaign, a modified skill tree, a loot boost for basic fragments, new emotes and more. Obviously, if you would prefer to just run the rule over the base game first, and then leave yourself considering the Season Pass for a later date, an individual purchase of that is more than possible, whilst the Standard Edition of the game will appear on the 4th June for £49.99.

So, to get involved make sure you head to the Xbox Store on the links listed above. Our full review of Warhammer: Chaosbane on Xbox One will be with you as we move forward, but for now you could do a lot worse than check out some initial thoughts from our hands-on time with the game.

If you want to know even more, then the Story trailer below will sort you out.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
