You could be forgiven for thinking that Unpacking is just the next step in the whole party-themed removal and packing business that has found a home on console and PC through the likes of Moving Out and Get Packed. You’d be wrong though, for this is something entirely different.
Sold as a zen-like affair, Unpacking does indeed deal with home moving, but whereas the aforementioned games revel in the madness that is involved, this is a much more serene experience, one that will have you taking your most valuable possessions out of multiple boxes and placing them neatly in their new space.
Unpacking is available through Xbox Game Pass on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC (also on Switch), or priced at £16.74 and for that money Humble Games and the developers at Witch Beam are giving players the opportunity to kick back and relax, throwing them a part-puzzle, part home decor title. You see, it’s in here where you’ll be looking to help out with no less than eight of the biggest house moves, removing items from the well packaged boxes and ensuring they find a place in the new house. And by doing so you can expect to be treated to clues about the life of those whom you are helping to unpack. We’re expecting this to be a rather intriguing little title which deals with the more personal side of house moving.

- Explore domestic environments with all their nooks and crannies while you stack plates, hang towels, and arrange bookshelves

You can be sure that we’ll get hands-on with Unpacking in the coming days to see how things work on Xbox, but we’re already pretty well set on the fact that this could be a brilliant little time waster. Stay tuned for our full review.
