Test the mind with Puzzle by Nikoli W Akari on Xbox

Puzzle by Nikoli W Akari

We can’t pretend that we were blown away when Puzzle by Nikoli W Sudoku arrived on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. And now that Puzzle by Nikoli W Akari is here, the excitement levels fail to rise once more.

Available to purchase and download right now, Puzzle by Nikoli W Akari is the latest puzzler to hit the Xbox scene, as the prolific Nikoli W follows on from a Sudoku offering to cover the Akari bases.

Perhaps not quite as well known as Sudoku, there’s still a bit of a draw with Akari as gamers get the opportunity to test their minds once more with a new take on the brain teasers. A fairly simple premise – combine numbers, lights and spaces to fill a board – should you be familiar with what the relatively new puzzle game brings, then you should be sorted here.

Don’t expect any glitz and glamour though. If Puzzle by Nikoli W Sudoku is anything to go by, Puzzle by Nikoli W Akari is going to be a bog standard, rather generic, mundane offering that puts you through your paces; nothing more, nothing less. We’ll be sure to detail if that is the case should we come to review.

For now you can grab Puzzle by Nikoli W Akari from the Xbox Store for £3.99. That low cost combined with the multitude of puzzles is probably the one thing that is going to save Puzzle by Nikoli W Akari from being totally overlooked.

Let us know in the comments if you decide to grab it.

Game Description:

This famous and easily understandable puzzle was created in 2001. “Akari” is a puzzle in which you set lights based on the hint numbers in order to light up the entirety of the white space. The main features of “Akari” are the easy to understand rules, and the depth of the game. There are great numbers of patterns for which you will figure out “When the numbers and lights and spaces are combined like this, then THIS is how they are sure to match up”, so you have plenty of opportunities to taste “the excitement of discovering new patterns”.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
