MotoGP 18 races to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC grid in June 2018

If it’s got wheels and an engine, then chances are Milestone will be behind it. Today the Italian developers have announced the full release date and first details of MotoGP 18, with competitive gaming at the forefront of the launch.

Due to roll up onto the starting grid come 7th June 2018, MotoGP 18 will see a reignition of the MotoGP series on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, promising the most immersive and realistic MotoGP experience yet.

A game that will be found celebrating the passion, excitement and all the adrenaline of the MotoGP championship, it will be coming back with a completely rebuilt edition, that not only gives gamers the chance to take part in the best motorcycle racing show on earth, featuring all the official content from 2018 MotoGP season, but able to take all this in with improved features which will set a completely new level of realism and immersion.

But that’s not all, and MotoGP 18 will play host to the return of the MotoGP eSports Championship, as it goes multiplatform on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Following on from the success from last year, Dorna Sports and Milestone will be launching the next stage of the eSport Championship, offering fans the opportunity to live MotoGP as a protagonist. The world-first MotoGP eSport Championship in 2017 was comprised of six online qualifying challenges, which led up to the exciting final showdown at the Gran Final in Valencia, broadcasted in more than 190 countries worldwide. And it is that which has paved the way for this brand-new tournament in 2018 one which will enable all players to take part in the competition no matter their desired format. All details about the 2018 eSport Championship will be disclosed in the upcoming months but you should already be getting ready to challenge the fastest players and race for the title of MotoGP eSport 2018 World Champion!

This title marks the arrival of the series on the Unreal Engine, a leap forward in terms of technological innovation, ensuring incredible enhancements in the visual quality, realistic and impressive lighting effects and completely reworked physics: thanks to a realistic physics simulation, the game faithfully reproduces all the distinctive behavior of the bikes, thereby reducing the gap between fiction and reality, while making it accessible also to casual gamers through the introduction of riding aids and tutorials. More details about the technological features will be unveiled soon, but with all these new advancements our goal is to offer our fans a realistic and immersive MotoGP™ experience.”

Key features include:

  • The official 2018 MotoGP™ season, with all riders, official rosters from MotoGP™, Moto2™, Moto3™ and Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup and all 19 official tracks, including the new Buriram International Circuit in Thailand;
  • Faithful reproduction of riders, tracks and bikes, thanks to the Drone Scanning system, for a 1:1 recreation of all the track details, and the 3D scanning technology, to include real MotoGP™ riders’ faces in game;
  • Exclusive improved features to make the game experience as immersive as ever, such as new cut scenes, the spectator mode and brand new interactive tutorials;
  • Enhanced AI, Bike Physics and Collision System, with the introduction of riding aids to offer a more enjoyable simulation at every level;
  • New scalable damage system and tire management system;
  • A compelling career mode to climb the ladder from Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup to MotoGP™ class, including an innovative bike development setup, to significantly increase the bikes’ performance, as well as the MotoGP™ ID to keep track of such progress.
