With the 2018 FIFA World Cup kicking off in Russia on 14th June, EA Sports have today released a World Cup themed content update in FIFA 18 for free. What better way is there to get your football fix until then?
To enable football fans to feel the excitement of the major tournament, EA have brought an authentic experience to FIFA 18 with the inclusion of all 32 qualified national teams, as well as the official match balls, stadiums and, of course, the iconic trophy. These are to be used across a number of new game modes, such as FIFA World Cup Kick-Off which allows players to play an offline match against the A.I. or with friends, the full 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia to play out the tournament from the group stage to the final, and Custom FIFA World Cup Tournament that gives you a chance to rewrite history with any of the licensed national teams in the game.
The biggest draw though is clearly FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team, allowing players to build their dream international squads and compete in single player modes and tournaments. You can even attempt the online and offline Draft modes and have a bash at numerous Squad Building Challenges. The update has been set up to adapt to real world performances, so these items will update based on the performances of players who stood out on matchday, with upgraded stats throughout the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. There are also four new ICONS to acquire in the form of Miroslav Klose, Hidetoshi Nakata, Gary Lineker, and Bobby Moore.
As if that wasn’t enticing enough, for every Standard or Premium pack you purchase in FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team, you will receive the equivalent pack value in the regular Ultimate Team mode. All of this is now live for free in FIFA 18 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC… so what are you waiting for?
