A free, public pre-alpha playtest has now been unveiled for Vindictus.
The test will provide access to a build of the game still in a very early stage of development and feature a demo-level play of combat with two playable characters, Fiona and Lann, regions based on early-world concepts, emotes, and outfits for testing purposes. The public pre-alpha test will start on Wednesday, March 13, at 18:00 PDT, and will be available until Monday, March 18 at 01:00 PDT through Steam.
To participate, players only need to visit the Vindictus: Defying Fate Steam page and sign up for the pre-alpha test by following the below steps:
- Log into Steam with your Steam ID and go to the Vindictus: Defying Fate Store Page
- Click the ‘Request Access’ button on the Store Page
- Click the ‘Game Play’ button on the Store Page
- Download Vindictus: Defying Fate Playtest from the library and run the game

Want something fast? Want something furious? Want something ferocious? There’s a new action RPG on the horizon – and it’s coming to PC and consoles.
Nexon (they behind KartRider: Drift) have unveiled a brand new action RPG to the world. And yes, as hinted at, this one is going to be utterly fast, totally furious and extremely ferocious when it lands on PC and consoles.
A new action RPG
That games is Vindictus: Defying Fate, as we will discover the chance to be whisked off to a visually stunning 3D fantasy world inspired by Celtic mythology. Taking place in the same realm created by Nexon in the critically acclaimed 2010 MMORPG, Vindictus, this new action RPG expands the world and lore of the original with immersive environments and exciting, fast-paced combat.
Currently little is known, but in Vindictus: Defying Fate you’ll be found treading a hero’s path; one in which lies no truth or glory. Vindictus: Defying Fate is a fast-paced medieval fantasy adventure that combines adrenaline-fueled combat with the depth and customization of RPGs. It’s here where you’ll get to play with a large roster of distinct characters, each boasting unique abilities and combos, including series favourites Lann and Fiona.
You’ll also get to face fearsome Fomorian creatures based on classic Irish mythology and brace yourself for cunning monsters that tower over your character, all poised to challenge your prowess. Will you embrace the challenge as you embark on a journey that will see you become a part of the saga that defies fate?
Alpha testing awaits
Nexon will be holding a public pre-alpha test for Vindictus: Defying Fate in the coming weeks. More details regarding this test, including its starting date, will be shared soon. To participate, players need only add the game to their wishlists on Steam before the pre-alpha test begins. Once the pre-alpha test is underway, the game will be available for download and play by anyone on Steam.
From there, expect this one to be coming for Windows PCs and consoles on a date still to be determined. Which consoles is Vindictus: Defying Fate coming to? Who knows, but we’re holding out on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 at a minimum.
