Ever wish you could take away all the complexities of modern gaming, and go completely minimalist? Well, Viktor Yurchuk and Eastasiasoft certainly do, hence the creation of Ball laB II on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, the sequel to the original Ball laB.
Towards the tail-end of 2021, we had the opportunity to review Ball laB, and it did indeed achieve its aims in minimalism. However, we never found ourselves coming back for more, and saw it primarily as an easy way to attain Gamerscore. So, what’s in store for the sequel?
Straight-Forward Platforming
Now available on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, following a March 2023 debut on PC, Ball laB II has you rolling about as a humble ball. Your only goal is to reach the end of the single-screened level, avoiding any of the pitfalls and spikes along the way.
As bounce pads and the like start to be added on, the complexity and difficulty grows. Jump, double-jump, and roll. It’s that simple!
Do you have what it takes to complete the 50 levels of puzzling platforming? Do you want to complete those 50 levels? We’d highly advise you give our review of Ball laB II on Xbox a read first.

Game Description
Roll, bounce and double-jump through tough-but-fair platforming stages in minimalistic retro style!
Stripping away modern complexities to return to a simpler, more challenging style of gaming, Ball laB II is a straightforward precision platformer presented in minimalistic pixel art graphics with a soothing color palette. Each puzzling stage fills a single screen, with the objective being to get from one end of the level to another without falling victim to spikes, pitfalls or other hazards.
You play as the ball. You can roll along flat surfaces, bounce to ledges, hop onto platforms, double-jump or ride elevators to reach your goal. If you hit a hazard, you’ll instantly respawn at the beginning of the stage, adding to your death counter with each attempt. How many tries will it take for you to clear all 50 challenges?
