Arriving on consoles today, Alisa is an homage to cult-classic 90’s survival horror. You can see the influence of PS1 and N64 games like the original Resident Evil in Alisa’s pre-rendered backgrounds, 480p resolution and fixed camera angles.
Alisa was previously released onto PC via Steam, developed in Unity 5 – an extremely old version of the popular engine. The developers have used several engine and technological innovations to make the game compatible with modern console systems. The version coming to consoles is that of Alisa Developer’s Cut, which contains all updates and new content previously added to the PC version, as well as numerous fixes and quality of life optimisations.
Trapped in a nightmare
Hot on the heels of a notorious thief in a fantastical realm reminiscent of the roaring 1920s, Alisa’s pursuit takes an unexpected turn when she is mysteriously transported to an old, eerie Victorian-style mansion.
Haunted by the mansion’s bizarre, mechanised doll-like inhabitants, Alisa must navigate a labyrinth of twisted corridors. With danger lurking around every corner, her only priority is survival and escape.
But as she delves deeper into the mansion’s mysteries, Alisa must confront the chilling question: can she emerge from this ordeal with her humanity intact?
