Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 31 – Winter

-

Winter has arrived in Mexico – and the world of Forza Horizon 5. And so the usual Weekly Challenges found in the Festival Playlist events have switched up, with a host of new objectives and missions to try and nail. Do so and we’ll get our hands on some tasty, if virtual, cars. What can possibly go wrong?

Hopefully nothing, but come with me to Winter and let’s see which cars and tunes you’re going to need. Do you want to build a snowman?

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Blue and Gold

This week’s challenge car is a real classic pocket rocket, the Renault Clio Williams.

I used to really like these little cars, with their distinctive blue paint and gold wheels, however finding one these days is a tricky business. Still, we can drive a pretend car instead.

Should you not have one in your garage, then it is available in the Autoshow. It’s a mere 30,000 credits to boot!

Chapter 1 – Never enough

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Small Package, Big Power

Now we need to earn 2 stars at Trailblazers. Never had this down as an off roader…

The Malpais one off the highway is easy in stock trim.

Chapter 3 – Collectors Edition

Spend 20,000 credits on upgrades now. Go wild! I had an engine swap, AWD and made it lighter in order to make this thing fly.

Chapter 4 – Buzzing

Simply get three stars at speed traps now, in total, not all at once. Pick one and zoom past it!

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 31.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

So, with the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

The Trial, three Eventlabs, PR Stunts and a couple of Seasonal Championships this week.

The Trial – Sea to Mountain

This week we need a B Class 700 European Retro Saloon, and there is a fair bit of choice.

I plumped for an Audi RS 4 Avant from 2001, share code :172973840.

The prize for managing to find people who actually want to race and don’t think they are playing dodgems (naming no names here) is an Abarth 595 , which we need for the Treasure hunt. In other words, do The Trial first.

Eventlab 1 – PATO BINCIDI Presents – Nelipo Track Night

The category for this one is European Modern Supercars, and the tuning limit is S1 Class 900, the same as last week. I went with an Audi R8 V10 from 2013, share code : 646685057.

Some racing – that is about the best thing I can say about this course. There’s no flow, the corners are stupidly sharp and the massive walls around the track add nothing. Not one of my faves.

The prize for completing this race is a Renault Clio from 93. The Williams one we need for the weekly challenge!

Eventlab 2 – DARNYFLARSHNIFT Presents – FBMR GP B Ram Jam

European Super Saloons for this event, to A Class 800. I went for an Audi RS6 Avant, famously not a saloon, with a share code of 736888629.

A tight and twisty urban track, but one that is well matched to the class of car, and so is a good challenge. Thumbs up!

Take away a Lancia Stratos for completing it.

European Hypercars tuned to S1 Class 900 for this one, so it should be pretty rapid. I went for a Lambo Aventador LP700-4, and the share code is : 362867196.

A messy, confusing layout, trees sticking through the road blocking the view and the illusion of choice make this not a good track. I normally like GT DENY’s tracks, but this was a disappointment.

We can take away a Super Wheelspin for winning out

PR Stunt 1 –  Speed Trap – San de las Minas

The PR Stunts this week all share a common theme – Mercedes-AMG cars, tuned to A Class 800.

The speed we need to clear is 130 mph, and so I went with a GT S from 2015, as it is almost at the right level.

Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Caballo Blanco

Same challenge, same car class required. I used a stock GT 4 door coupe. We need to exceed 130 mph again. This is much trickier as the trap is right on a bend.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Drift Zone – Los Campos

Bit of sliding now.

Luckily most AMG’s will go sideways if you breathe on the pedal and so I chose the same GT S. Drift points we need to score is over 80,000. Kind sliding! Pretty easy all told.

Yet another Super Wheelspin for doing this.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Exclusive Event- Lotus Leaf

Lotus Cars tuned to a maximum of A Class 800 means only one thing in my book – it’s time for an Elise. The share code for mine is 925026730.

For winning out, we can take home a Lotus Esprit V8, an exclusive car we need for the photo challenge this week. That’s lucky.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Sand Speeders

European Hypercars tuned to S1 Class 900 for this one, so – again – it should be pretty rapid. I went for a Lambo Aventador LP700-4, and the share code is : 362867196.

Got a weird feeling of deja vu!

The prize for winning is a Lambo Huracan.

Part 3: Other Challenges

There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 31 – Winter. Horizon Arcade, Photos, Treasure hunts – this week has it all! Even a bit of Open Racing to get involved in.

Photo Challenge – #SPIRITOFHORIZON

We have to photograph a Lotus Esprit V8 this week, anywhere we fancy. Not sure where would suit it, to be honest. Zooming down the open highway or parked up looking pretty?

But enjoy my artistic effort anyways.

The reward? A new emote, Fist Pump…

Treasure Hunt – The Bare ESSE-ntials

The clue this week reads “With scorpion badge, it’s oh so bold, jump for 1 star to win some gold”. The photo shows an Abarth EsseEsse, and I guess we need to get one star at a danger sign in to win. I tuned mine a tad, and the share code for mine is : 264491875.

The chest contains 100,000 credits. See below for its location.

Horizon Arcade – Mini Games

Complete all three rounds of any Horizon Arcade mini game to win big here.

Choose from Drift, speed, chaos, wreckage and air and try to get all three rounds ticked off in the time limit.

Take away a massive three points for doing this.

Horizon Open – Blast from the Past

Complete a Horizon Open event in a particular car this week, the Lambo Huracan LP 610. Hopefully the class that comes up will allow it!

The prize for completing this is the song, Keeno- Nocturne. Can’t wait.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – Forest Flume

This week we need an S2 Class Extreme Track toy from Europe to compete. I went with a Bugatti Divo, and the share code is : 169915677. We need to average over 180 mph to win.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Koen you Believe it

Now we need an S2 Class 998 Koenigsegg, and that of course means it is time for the Agera RS with a share code of 409466764. A top speed of 275 mph should do it!

Completing the championship will get us a Porsche Cayman.Bit of a come down…

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon

Get ready to go in a Super hot hatch, Class 700. I chose a 2021 Golf R, and the share code is : 906454196.

We need to clear over 200m to win.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.

Seasonal Championship – Peak Retro

For this event, it is a European SUV Hero we need, tuned to A Class 800. I used a Bentley Bentayga, and the share code is : 118484657.

For winning, it is a Mercedes X-Class that we can take away.

With Series 31 over the halfway point, those season reward cars are up for grabs. And they are the Ferrari 575M for 80 points and an Audi RS6 ’21 for 160.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 31 too, and there are two for proper cars and two for EVs. For proper cars, we can have a crack at the Plaza Circuit and Reservorio Sprint, while the EV lovers amongst us will enjoy Tunnel Run (I still hate this track) and the Lookout circuit. Put in a clean lap on each event to earn 4 points in total, not per race as it appears. Have you done this yet?

Grab enough points and Series 31 Winter also sees you given access to the exclusive Mercedes-AMG SL63 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Mini ‘65 FE, a hard to find car apparently.

Tune in this time next week as the new series moves into Winter, and plenty more challenges are unveiled.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
