2026's Best Games

Trash is Fun, yes?

There are all manner of ‘eco-games’ out there, each one trying to hammer home a specific message. The latest is that of Trash is Fun on Xbox from Brinemedia – a game that focuses on recycling garbage. That must be fun, no?

A new eco-game comes to Xbox

Available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (optimised) is Trash is Fun. The creation of Martian Teapots (great name) and picked up by the Brinemedia team, Trash is Fun follows the likes of Fresh Start to drop a new green message to the world.

Promising to teach about waste management and how recycling should be at the fore of our lives, Trash is Fun sees you taking on the role of a variety of animals; a squirrel, a hedgehog, a duck and more. From there, you need to work as a team, sorting out, and then recycling all manner of garbage and rubbish. Do so and you’ll save your land. Hopefully.

Priced at a mere £4.19, with a launch discount dropping that down for a limited time, Trash is Fun comes with a stylized art direction. Combine this with an environmental soundtrack, exciting gameplay and a post-apocalyptic world, and you have something that could well appeal.

Need a review of Trash is Fun on Xbox?

In fact, appeal is exactly what Trash is Fun has done for us. We’ve been playing this one for a little while already, pushing out a review in the process. Consider that low price and we feel you could do much worse than play Trash is Fun. And that’s why we gave it a 3.5/5 in review, concluding with the following…

Trash in Fun is a plucky little game which has heart, and given that it has been developed by such a small team deserves a little extra credit. For under a fiver, you could do an awful lot worse. Trash is Fun is a wholesome (if brief) experience that just goes to show that recycling can indeed be fun.

Tempted? The key features of Trash is Fun should build that appeal and intrigue even more…

  • Addictive gameplay
  • Easy achievements
  • Optimized for Xbox Series X|S
  • Support 120 FPS
  • Localization in 9 languages

You can find Trash is Fun on the Xbox Store right now. Go and grab a download, playing on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

There’s also a store page up for the Windows version of Trash is Fun if you prefer to play on PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
