Ah, the good old NES. How we love the classics it delivered and the games it spawned. Even here and now though, many many generation of gaming later, we’re still being pointed in the right direction by the experiences of yesteryear. And that is how we’ve got the chance to go 8-bit brawling with the release of Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl on Xbox and PlayStation.
Following on from the Nintendo Switch and PC release in 2020, the version of Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl that has now arrived on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PS4 is seen as an Arcade Edition of that title. That means even though this has been fully inspired by the NES classics of years gone by, it arrives on Xbox and PlayStation with updated visuals and a remastered chip-tune soundtrack.
Priced at £12.49 from the Xbox Store, Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl is a full-on 8-bit beat ’em up, one that will appeal massively to fans of Jay and Silent Bob, with a huge variety of references to the likes of Clerks and the View Askewniverse worlds.
Promising to deliver retro action for either a solo player or those preferring two-player cooperative gameplay, you should expect some serious fighting action in Mall Brawl, with the Interabang Entertainment team confirming that this is an experience that will see you hit square in the eyes by big levels, bigger bosses, dope combos and more.
