Feel it’s time to head back in to the awesome Metal Gear universe once more? Konami obviously think so and today they have announced a release date, pre-order details and more surrounding their upcoming Xbox One, PS4 and PC title, Metal Gear Survive.

Picking up from where Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes left off, Survive sees players pulled through a wormhole before finding themselves in a dangerous world filled with biological threats and hostile environments where they must survive and find their way home.

You’ll not just get the chance to fight off deadly creatures, but also explore and forage the environment for food, water and other resources to stay alive. Scavenged materials will be used to build weapons, buildings and other useful items, as well as develop a much needed base camp, where crop growing and animal rearing facilities can be added. Metal Gear Survive will also introduce new weaponry to combat charging creatures and lethal environments, as well as familiar weaponry such as Walker Gears and Fulton balloons.

But when is it out I hear you ask. Well Metal Gear Survive will hit Xbox One, PS4 and PC for £34.99/€39.99 come February 20th (Americas) and February 22nd 2018 for Europe.

Konami have also detailed the special pre-order campaign and fans who pre-order the game will receive a specially developed Survival Bonus Pack that includes a bonus content available only with to those ordering the title in advance:

  • 4 Gold-plated weapons: Bat, Sledgehammer, Survival Machete and Survival Spear
  • 4 Metallic survival scarves: Green, Blue, Pink and Silver
  • 2 Gestures: “Thumbs Up” and “Happy”
  • Mother Base Nameplate
  • “BOXMAN [THE ORANGE]” accessory
  • “Kabuki” face paint

Metal Gear Survive promises to continue the pedigree found in V’s highly praised gameplay, combining a unique blend of stealth and survival mechanics. Players will be able to experience both a single player campaign and co-op of up to four players. The single player campaign will be all about learning resource management, character progression through base camp development, and craft useful weapons and equipment that can be utilized in the co-op gameplay. In co-op, players will fight with their comrades online to collect rewarding loot which can aid in the single player campaign.
