Take Time Touring Tropical Islands in The Touryst

Having received plaudits galore at the end of 2019 on the Nintendo Switch, today The Touryst arrives on Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass.

Arriving on a sun-drenched island, you play as a tourist looking for the perfect getaway. However, you quickly discover a monument with a mystery inside that will only unlock once you retrieve items from all the other islands you can visit; sunbathing will have to wait for now.

That is your main objective in The Touryst, but this open-world-esque action/adventure has plenty of other distractions. Talk to the locals, visit the arcade, go surfing or scuba diving or unwind in a jazz club; the distractions are so that whilst your priorities are on uncovering the secrets of the islands, you can still have a fun time on your vacation. It is up to you to determine how important that sunset dance party is over investigating these ancient ruins.

The Touryst also has a very striking aesthetic right off the bat. Arriving by boat on the first island, the sun is setting and the voxel art-style really grabs your attention.

The Touryst is available to download now from the Xbox Store for £16.74, but for Xbox Game Pass subscribers it is included in the service! The Touryst promises a bite-sized open-world experience and whilst the British summer has been as wet as ever, this might be your last, best opportunity for some sunshine this year. Let us know in the comments if you will be downloading!

Game Description:

You are just arriving at the Monument Islands. Want to go swimming? Or rather take a dive into the deep sea? Or do you want to visit the amusement arcade, do some shopping, dance at the beach party? Fancy some surfing? Or will you talk with the strange old tourist and listen what he has to say about these ancient mysterious monuments..
