Coming in with a 3.5/5 score from our TheXboxHub team back in 2018, the base game of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor left a decent amount to be desired. However, NACON and NeocoreGames are back with the Ultimate Edition to one of Warhammer’s most sprawling adventures yet, and are hoping to bring in even more players to the franchise.

Releasing today on Xbox and PlayStation, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor once again puts you into the stomping boots of an Inquisitor – one of the most powerful beings of the Imperium, and an agent sent to the Caligari Sector to rid it of mutants, heretics, and the super metal-sounding Daemons of Chaos.

As the first action-RPG set in the expansive Warhammer universe, Inquisitor – Ultimate Edition is throwing out improvements left, right and centre, making this truly the most ‘ultimate’ way to travel a dark, grungy open world as one of four elite agents. Whether you duke it out as a Crusader, Tech-Adept, Assassin or Psyker, carving out your own playstyle, you can do so in native 4K on a device that supports such visual gorgeousness, with higher resolution textures, improved physics and even cross-gen support with the co-op multiplayer.

In fact, you can choose to fight against the Daemons of Chaos as a solo player, with four players online or, in a console-exclusive two-player local co-op, if you happen to live with a fellow Warhammer enthusiast.

Key features coming to Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Ultimate Edition include:

  • The first action RPG set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe
  • Four character classes with three variants each
  • More than 60 weapons, hundreds of active and passive skills, 18 unique skill trees and dozens of class-specific perks to create your own style of play
  • A persistent open world
  • A Cabal creation system to build factions of Inquisitors
  • Tactical and brutal battles set within a storyline faithful to the Warhammer 40,000 universe
  • Online multiplayer mode for up to four players and two-player local co-op mode, exclusively on consoles
  • Free and paid post-launch DLC (missions, new game modes, upgrades, etc.)
  • Massive, constantly updated endgame
  • Complex itemization and crafting system

There really is no better time to get back into Warhammer, or even to try it out for the first time in RPG format! Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Ultimate Edition is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. It is also worth noting that you can pick up a 50% discount if you own the Xbox One or PS4 version of the base game. To pick up a copy on Xbox, head over to the Xbox Store, where the game costs £49.99.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
