Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is set to arrive on Xbox One and join Xbox Game Pass in July

It’s official, the treacherous Skaven are returning in just under a month, with the Warhammer: Vermintide 2 release date now set in stone for Xbox One. And best of all, it’s heading straight in the Xbox Game Pass scheme!

In Vermintide 2, the combined forces of the rat-like Skaven army and the barbaric Chaos faction will prove to be an even greater threat to the heroes during the End Times. There are 15 different hero careers to choose from, with an arsenal of weapons customisable to fit your style of play and talent trees to unlock new abilities, all of which enable you to better prepare for the never-ending hordes of enemies across the 13 levels within. The only way to reign victorious and keep the Empire from falling is to gather allies in this first-person co-op apocalyptic action game and destroy the threats on your path to glory.

Besides playing the game alongside three other heroes, you can also get support from the Mixer audience when, and if, you decide to stream. This integration via Mixer enables viewers to participate in the game, letting them vote on what’s coming next and other stuff.

Whilst Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is already out on PC, those of us on Xbox One need to wait until 11th July to get our hands on it either via Xbox Game Pass from day one – an upgrade to the Premium Edition will be available – or by purchasing it outright. The Premium Edition can be pre-ordered today on the Microsoft Store for £35.99 and includes the base game as well as the following extras: Sigmar Keep Statue, Helmgart Heraldry Themed Skins, exclusive pre-order Portrait Frame, Premium Edition Portrait Frame, and 6x exclusive Heroic Deeds. When it does arrive, it’ll be enhanced for Xbox One X and support Native 4K!

“After the huge success with the release of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 on PC, we are happy and excited to bring the game to Xbox One.” says Martin Wahlund, CEO at Fatshark. “We can’t wait to stick it to the Skaven and Chaos on another platform.”

There’s just a few weeks left to wait for its release, but to tide us over until then, an open beta has launched for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 via the Xbox Insider Program, so check it out!
