We already knew that Underworld Ascendant was going to let you become The Ascendant on PC, but now OtherSide Entertainment and 505 Games have announced that it’s heading to major consoles too. There’ a new trailer for your perusal too, so join us as we delve into the Stygian Abyss!
Players will take on the role of ‘The Ascendant’ in the upcoming action-RPG Underworld Ascendant, where they’ll get summoned by the mysterious Cabirus to the Stygian Abyss. The antagonist of the piece and father of all monsters, Typhon, is a grave threat to your world and Cabirus’, but only the Ascendant (you) can put an end to him. In order to defeat Typhon, secrets must be uncovered regarding what happened to the inhabitants of the Abyss, gaining favor with your descendants and sharing their knowledge and strength along the way to defeat Typhon.
Due to the industry veterans behind the game itself, Paul Neurath and Warren Spector, Underworld Ascendant is a bit of a throwback to their much celebrated past and boasts a gameplay experience that encourages different playstyles, whilst also rewarding experimentation in a dungeon environment that reacts dynamically to the player’s choices. You can choose from a variety of items, skills and abilities that allow you to experience the game in many different ways. Be sure to think creatively as you devise unique solutions to overcome the challenges faced in the Abyss, with each decision holding great opportunity and grave consequence.
Underworld Ascendant will descend onto Steam for PC on 15th November, 2018, however those gaming on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch have to wait until some time next year. As of right now, we’ll leave you to have a gander at the Gamescom trailer…
