It has to be said that the indie publishing team at Digerati are on a bit of a roll. And after dropping a ton of lovely indie experiences the way of gamers over the last few months and years, they are back once more with the launch of Black Paradox on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, delivering intense interstellar frantic bullet-hell to the masses.

Previously available in Steam Early Access, Black Paradox is hitting the big time with a full release. Giving you the chance to become the ultimate bounty hunter, the retro-stylish shoot ’em up has arrived today on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, just a day or two after seeing the Steam and PS4 launches take hold.

Praised by many for intense boss fights and hot side-scrolling action, Black Paradox can be grabbed for £12.49 (launch discount brings that down to £9.99 for a limited time) right now, pushing you into a shmup full of enemies, weapons and upgrades, all infused together via an ’80s pixel-art aesthetic and retro soundtrack. Running with roguelite elements, never before will you have had a better opportunity to run as an infamous bounty hunter and take down the most dangerous criminal organization in the galaxy: the Hellraisers and its seven lieutenants.

“Flying space cars, masked bounty hunters and big bad bosses. All spiced up with pixel art and a synth-wave soundtrack. That’s what we wanted to bring to our game with Black Paradox!” Enthuses Fantastico Studio CEO, Daniele Bianchini. “We think the roguelite shoot ’em up genre hasn’t been explored enough and Black Paradox brings a fresh take on it.”

Features of Black Paradox include:

  • 20 weapons, 37 powerups, 13 deadly drones, 8 amazing power-up combos, and the ultimate space-bending move: the “Black Paradox”
  • 62 different enemies, each with its own attack patterns
  • 14 deadly bosses with unique attacks + 1 secret boss
  • Upgrade your stats and unlock new powers
  • 2 player local co-op
  • Amazing pixel art, awesome synth-wave soundtrack
  • Extra hardcore boss rush mode to unlock

If you think you are ready to enter the cockpit, prime your weapons, and are prepared for the ultimate galactic showdown then you can grab the Xbox One version of Black Paradox from the Xbox Store right now, whilst the Nintendo eShop will sort out the Switch players for £13.49. Those on PS4 and PC will have had access for a few days, but if this is the first time you’re hearing of Black Paradox and run on those formats, head on over to the usual digital offerings.

Our full review of Black Paradox on Xbox One will be live soon too. Keep an eye out for it.
