age of wonders planetfall revelations

The turn-based strategy game, Age of Wonders: Planetfall, has been delivering quality gameplay for a few months now, but for those wanting to delve deeper into the Planetfall universe, there’s a new expansion on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Yes, the Revelations DLC has arrived and looks to introduce ancient Heritor Secret Technology, new campaign missions, and much more.

The first expansion for Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Revelations, sets in motion the return of the entombed Es’Teq dynasty, whose Heritor descendents aim to use ancient technology and reincarnate billions of followers across the galaxy, in hope of establishing divine rule. The Heritor will wield strong Entropy weapons that are highly effective against machines and can awaken ancient Es’Teq minds. So prepare to claim ancient secrets yourself or you’ll succumb to their power in new campaign missions lasting upwards of 10 hours in total, which are full of tactical combat and in-depth empire building.

You can expect to explore over 30 mysterious sites filled with traps and powerful enemies to reap unique rewards and uncover great secrets. Be wary of the fresh threats from the likes of Reapers, who are robotic assassins, as well as the equally deadly Megasow and Piglets, which are bio-engineered wildlife gone rabid after the fall of the Star Union, which will devour anything in sight. In addition to that is the new and challenging Tomb World scenario, where Heritor enemies create an onslaught of destruction for you to tackle. This particular scenario also includes a new multiplayer aspect in order to allow more players to get in on the action.

To cap it off, all players will gain the ability to take over the new Imperial Defenses, thus unlocking Operations that are sure to enhance the combat effectiveness of your colonies. Furthermore, the Orbital Relays mechanic boosts your empire’s infrastructure to allow for nearly instant unit transportation between sectors – that’s rather handy!

And you can be enjoying all of this by grabbing Age of Wonders: Planetfall – Revelations from the Xbox Store for £12.49, as well as on Steam and the PS Store. It won’t cost you another penny if you already own the Age of Wonders: Planetfall Season Pass though.
