If you’ve ever previously hit up a full-motion video styled gaming experience then chances are it would have come about via the brilliance of the FMV kings at Wales Interactive. In fact, over the most recent years near on every FMV title that has hit console has seen them behind it. And today that Wales Interactive team are back, providing the knowledge required in order to find SIMULACRA releasing on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Having teamed up with the Malaysian game devs at Kaigan Games, Wales Interactive are today pushing the found-phone horror experience that is SIMULACRA to Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, running with a price tag of ÂŁ9.99 in the process.

The spiritual successor to the viral hit Sara Is Missing that saw Kaigan Games rack up more than 2 million downloads and multiple awards, SIMULACRA has previously been found rolling about on Steam, grabbing a 96% positive review status as it has gone.

Now though we see SIMULACRA hit console with full controller support, plus some lovely touchscreen opportunities for those playing on Nintendo Switch. And you’ll need that support too as you fall into the lost phone of Anna; a woman you do not know. Delving deep into her life, you’ll discover a cry for help in the form of a video message, leaving you to contact her friends in the hope you can tie together loose ends, work through her emails, texts, and photos in order to discover what is what.

Should you be able to use your skills to recover lost files, sift through corrupted data and retrace Anna’s final steps, then all will be good. If not, then well, who knows what may happen to her.

Features of SIMULACRA include:

•    Explore a fully realised world through the lens of a mobile phone.

•    An expansive narrative with hours of gameplay that leads to 5 possible endings.

•    A unique gameplay experience within a dating app, a social media app, a web browser app and more.

•    Filmed with live actors and an extensive VO cast.

•    Solve the recurring image and text decryption puzzles to learn more about Anna’s story.

With Wales Interactive previously having nailed all things FMV with the likes of Late Shift, The Bunker and The Shapeshifting Detective, hopes are high that the release of SIMULACRA on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch will be able to provide an equally interesting playthrough.

Our full review will be with you very soon and should allow a little insight into how SIMULACRA works, but in the meantime we urge you to hit up your favoured digital store and grab a little download. For us Xbox One gamers that obviously means paying a visit to the Xbox Store, but should you prefer the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop, then that’s your call.

Edit: Our review of SIMULACRA on Xbox One is now live. Hit it up.

Game Description:

SIMULACRA is an interactive FMV horror game about exploring a missing woman’s phone — from the creators of Sara is Missing. You found the lost phone of a woman named Anna. In it, you see a desperate cry for help in the form of a video message. The phone behaves strangely as you dive deeper into it. You talk to her friends and they have no idea where she is. Her texts, emails and photo gallery provides fragments of information. It’s up to you to piece it together. Recover lost files, piece back corrupted data, and retrace her final steps. Find her before it’s too late.
