90” Soccer goes into Xbox extra time

90 soccer

We’ve been trying for the life of us to work out why 90” Soccer is called what it is. Is the width of the pitch a mere 90 inches wide? The length maybe? Perhaps the goals are teeny tiny affairs in which goalies are miniaturised. Or perhaps 90” Soccer is called what it is because it forgoes the rulings of soccer, ditching minutes for seconds. Yes, that’s what it is.

90” Soccer bursts onto the Xbox Store for play on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S thanks to the Software Scribes S.L.U. team. Extremely well priced at just ÂŁ4.19, this is a football game unlike any other, as instead of having the usual 90 minutes of play, from the second you lace your boots and the ref’s whistle blows, you have a mere 90 seconds to prove yourself.

90” Soccer promises to be nothing but fast paced as you choose a team, take to the pitch and go up against multiple opponents in hope of scoring more than they do. Think of it as old mid-90’s Newcastle as Kevin Keegan’s Entertainers forgot all about defending and preferred to go on the attack; from the first minute to the last. Don’t think of it as a FIFA 23 alternative though.

That’s the basic premise of 90” Soccer and we’re expecting this one to be about as fast-paced as a game of Kick Off 2 on the Amiga, just playable on our favourite Xbox consoles. When you consider a bit of local and online multiplayer has been thrown in too, that ÂŁ4.19 price point looks ever enticing.

We’ll run the rule in review soon, but for now you can grab 90” Soccer from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Let us know if you decide to take to the pitch with 90” Soccer. The comments are below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
